Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker was the star of Monday's practice in full pads and is impressing the new coaching staff.
Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert has been working as the Cowboys No. 2 WR behind WR Brandin Cooks with WR CeeDee Lamb not participating. Tolbert is heading into his third season and is building a rapport with QB Dak Prescott.
ESPN's Adam Schefter believes Justin Fields has gained some ground on Russell Wilson in the race for the Steelers' starting QB job. Fields has "gotten better at practice every day," per Schefter, while Wilson missed a few days with his calf injury. "I think Russell Wilson remains in the pole position, but I also think that Justin Fields has opened some eyes, and they see the type of offense they could have," Schefter said.
The Athletic's James Boyd says that Colts WR Alec Pierce has looked much better in team drills than rookie WR Adonai Mitchell. The two are likely battling for one of the outside spots, and it doesn't sound like Mitchell's off to a great start.
Saints LB Demario Davis hurt a hamstring in position drills Wednesday and sat out the team portion of practice, NOLA.com's Matthew Paras reports. The team gave no further details on how long Davis might be out.
Giants QB Daniel Jones has struggled in training camp so far, according to SNY's Connor Hughes. Jones has regularly come up short on deep balls and been inaccurate on shorter passes. It's been a "common occurrence to see Jones simply missing his wide-open guys," Hughes writes.
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton left Wednesday's practice after injuring his left elbow. He reportedly spent a while in the medical tent by the field before riding a cart to the locker room. It's tough to know yet whether that represented urgency or convenience. We'll watch for more from the team on how long Bolton might be out.
The Athletic's Paul Dehner suggests Andrei Iosivas is the favorite to win the Bengals' No. 3 WR job. "The more Iosivas stacks practices, the more you wonder whether he won’t just soak up nearly all of [Tyler] Boyd’s 824 vacated snaps from last season," Dehner writes.
Steelers WR Roman Wilson is considered "week-to-week" with the ankle injury he suffered in Tuesday's practice, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "He could miss some time, but the injury does not appear serious," Fowler adds. It's relatively good news after Wilson had to be carted back to the locker room.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson is excited by what he's seen from QB Jayden Daniels in training camp so far, calling the rookie a "special talent." Daniels had his best day of camp on Tuesday, per The Washington Post's Sam Fortier, connecting on multiple deep passes and breaking off at least one long run.
Panthers WR Jonathan Mingo has earned praise from those around the first week of training camp, showing improved route-running and a strong grasp of the new offense. Former Panthers WR Steve Smith Sr. also revealed this week that he worked with the former second-round pick over the summer.
Patriots rookie WR Ja'Lynn Polk has impressed over his first week of training camp. NESN's Sean T. McGuire praised Polk's work across multiple drills and situations Tuesday, adding that the rookie "continues to stack [good] days."
The Bears on Tuesday reached agreement with WR D.J. Moore on a four-year contract extension worth $110 million. ESPN's Courtney Cronin reports that it includes $82.6 million in guarantees. Moore had two years remaining on his existing contract, which already had him set for nearly $16 million in salary. The extension carries him through 2029.
Steelers WR Roman Wilson left Tuesday's practice on a cart. Per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo, Wilson was injured on a jet sweep. KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani believes it's an ankle injury. We'll update the rookie's status when we know more.
Update: HC Mike Tomlin confirmed after practice that Wilson injured an ankle and is under evaluation to determine the severity.
Cardinals RBs Trey Benson, Michael Carter, and Emari Demercado are battling it out for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. Demercado has been subbing in for James Conner during first-team work, while Benson and Carter have worked with the second team.
28-year old Panthers RB Rashaad Penny has been placed on the reserve/retired list after retiring from the NFL.
Colts HC Shane Steichen has seen significant growth from WR Josh Downs this offseason. "He was explosive Year 1, but you can see he's taking it to another level in the offseason and obviously starting into training camp," Steichen said. "He's making a ton of plays right now, which is good for us. So, we've got to continue that for sure."
Broncos WR Troy Franklin is no higher than fifth on the depth chart right now, according to insider Benjamin Allbright. Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Josh Reynolds are the top three WRs, with Tim Patrick looking like the No. 4, per Allbright.
Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle was mentioned as "battling it out" with RB Malik Davis by EVP Stephen Jones. He was highly complimentary of RB Royce Freeman.
49ers RB Jordan Mason is earning some RB2 reps, splitting the position with RB Elijah Mitchell. Numerous reports have noted Mason running with authority in practice and looking like the better back.
