Broncos WR Troy Franklin is no higher than fifth on the depth chart right now, according to insider Benjamin Allbright. Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Josh Reynolds are the top three WRs, with Tim Patrick looking like the No. 4, per Allbright.
"You see flashes here and there, but I don't think he's likely to be starting, let alone a big part of the plan this year," Allbright said of Franklin.
It's not a big surprise to hear that a fourth-round rookie is buried on the depth chart in late July. We're certainly not ruling out the possibility of Franklin making an impact at some point this season.
But the news is noteworthy considering Franklin is the second Broncos WR in ADP. Mims, who's going behind Franklin in most fantasy drafts but is well ahead of the rookie on the depth chart, is the much better value.
That Franklin has depth-chart climbing to do at this point isn't a concern for his long-term dynasty value. But this is a good time to point out that he's considerably overvalued in rookie drafts, according to our ADP Market Index.
Reynolds and Patrick are worth tracking over the next month, but neither guy is worth a pick in most fantasy drafts right now.
