Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert has been working as the Cowboys No. 2 WR behind WR Brandin Cooks with WR CeeDee Lamb not participating. Tolbert is heading into his third season and is building a rapport with QB Dak Prescott.
John Machota: “Jalen Tolbert has been Dallas’ No. 2 camp wide receiver behind Brandin Cooks. There have been multiple occasions when Tolbert and Prescott have shown growth in their rapport. The best example was a back shoulder throw Thursday. McCarthy was particularly impressed by the play, saying: ‘You don’t make that throw last year. You definitely don’t make it two years ago.’ Tolbert remains the favorite to be Dallas’ No. 3 WR this season.”
With CeeDee Lamb on a contract holdout, Tolbert has had the opportunity to impress in camp.
He has been noted by multiple beat reporters as working consistently with the starters.
Any building of rapport with Dak Prescott is good for Tolbert's potential fantasy input for this season.
Tolbert had 22 catches for 268 yards and two TDs last season in his second year.
He is a deep sleeper for the third-year WR breakout since the Cowboys are thin in the WR room behind CeeDee Lamb.
