Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns WR Elijah Moore is in the concussion protocol, HC Kevin Stefanski said Sunday. Moore last practiced on Friday.
Panthers WR Xavier Legette is considered "day-to-day" with a foot injury he suffered on Sunday, according to The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye. Legette had an MRI that ruled out a fracture in the injured foot.
Rams WR Puka Nacua left practice early and later returned to the sideline in his uniform with an ice bag wrapped around his right knee. HC Sean McVay said that he is "not sure" what happened.
The Athletic's Dan Duggan notes that Giants WR Jalin Hyatt "has been getting more reps with the starters than [Darius] Slayton in camp." That's notable after Slayton remained ahead of Hyatt on the depth chart throughout last season.
Eagles HC Nick Sirianni sees some Danny Woodhead in rookie RB Will Shipley. Sirianni was with Woodhead with the Chargers from 2013 to 2016. Woodhead averaged 6.4 carries and 4.5 catches per game across those four seasons.
Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins will not need surgery on his injured knee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "A return at four weeks is likely (but not guaranteed)," Rapoport adds. "Would allow him to be ready for Week 1."
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill has agreed to a contract restructure paying him $90 million over the next three years with $65 million guaranteed. No new years were added to the contract, but Hill earns a total of $106.5 million guaranteed over the four-year period
Seahawks QB Geno Smith plans to use his legs a little bit more to add an extra element to what defenses have to account for. Last year, Smith rushed for 155 yards on 37 carries. In 2022, he ran for 366 yards.
Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (ACL) will not play this preseason per HC Dave Canales. Canales also mentioned that “Something around Week 3, Week 4 would be great." The dynamic rookie weapon tore his ACL in November and has been recovering since. The Panthers still invested a second round selection in Brooks in April.
Rams WR Cooper Kupp (Ankle) is believed to be "all the way back," per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. He also said the Rams offense clearly "runs through Kupp". A fully healthy Kupp.
The Athletic's Brooks Kubena says for the Eagles, "No player has been as impressive in camp" as WR Devonta Smith. "Smith has caught several deep passes from Hurts through six practices, showcasing an explosivity the Eagles lacked during their late-season collapse in 2023," Kubena writes. He adds that the new offense under OC Kellen Moore might continue to feature more downfield shots. According to Pro Football Focus, Hurts ranked just 20th last year in percentage of pass attempts traveling 20+ yards downfield -- among 40 qualifying QBs.
Cardinals Edge B.J. Ojulari will miss the season after tearing his left ACL in Friday's practice, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. The 2023 second-round pick was set to start opposite Zaven Collins in a defense that produced the league's third-fewest sacks last season.
SI.com's Grant Cohn says undrafted RB Cody Schrader has been the "top rookie" at 49ers camp, where many others have dealt with injuries. "He has been the most consistent rookie on the team," Cohn writes. "He makes big plays as a runner and as a receiver every day. He seems like a veteran, not a rookie." Cohn predicts a "monster preseason" for Schrader and a spot on the regular-season roster.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid was asked Friday about how he'll fill RB Jerick McKinnon's vacated passing-down role and proceeded to talk up RB Isiah Pacheco. “He’s ready to be able to do all that," Reid said of Pacheco. "He’s good with the protections, he’s good with the technique and fundamentals, he can run all the routes, he’s got great hands.”
Browns RB D'Onta Foreman is back with the team, a day after being flown to a hospital and evaluated for neck and back injuries. Scans on Foreman came back clean, according to insider Mary Kay Cabot.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson has been a “full participant” through the first week of training camp, per beat writer Zac Jackson. Watson underwent November surgery to address a displaced fracture to the glenoid in his right shoulder.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that testing on Seahawks QB Geno Smith's knee and hip "did not reveal anything significant" and that he "shouldn't miss any time."
Ravens HC John Harbaugh talked up RB Justice Hill on Thursday. Harbaugh called Hill a "high-caliber RB" who's "gonna play a lot."
Broncos HC Sean Payton said Thursday that RB Javonte Williams looks like a "completely different player" this year compared to last. Williams, of course, was working his way back from a multi-ligament knee injury last season.
Seahawks QB Geno Smith missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. HC Mike Macdonald said afterward that Smith is "working through a couple things" and that he'll get imaging on knee and hip issues Thursday night.
