Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett posted a modest 4-75 receiving line in Sunday's loss to the Giants. But that was enough to lead the team in receiving yards and tie for second in receptions, behind RB Kenneth Walker III. Lockett's 6 targets trailed Walker (8) and WRs D.K. Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (7 apiece). Metcalf posted a 4-55 receiving line. Smith-Njigba went 4-31-1.
Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III endured a weak fantasy day in Sunday's loss to the Giants. It would have been much worse without a big receiving effort, though. Walker made a team-leading 7 receptions on a team-high 8 targets. He tallied 57 receiving yards, to go with 5 carries for 19 yards.
Giants TE Theo Johnson more than doubled his season catch total in Sunday's win at Seattle. He nabbed 5 receptions for 48 yards on 5 targets, ranking third on the team in targets and catches.
Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy took advantage of his opportunity Sunday against the Seahawks. With starter Devin Singletary out, Tracy dominated backfield playing time. He handled 82% of the team's RB carries and ran five more pass routes than No. 2 RB Eric Gray. Tracy racked up 129 yards on 18 carries. That included runs of 27, 25, and 13 yards. He added 1 reception for a yard among 2 targets.
Giants WR Darius Slayton racked up 122 yards and a TD on 8 receptions in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He drew 11 targets -- 32.4% of QB Daniel Jones' total attempts -- to lead the team, with rookie WR Malik Nabers (concussion) out.
Cardinals WR Greg Dortch endured a quiet Sunday, catching one pass for 7 yards among 2 targets in the win over the 49ers. QB Kyler Murray spread 30 targets among eight Cardinals but sent 22 of them to the trio of TE Trey McBride (9), WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (7), and WR Michael Wilson (6).
Niners TE George Kittle tied WR Brandon Aiyuk for the team lead in targets (12) and receptions (8) in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. He tallied 64 yards and caught the team's lone TD pass. No other 49er caught more than one pass for the game.
Niners WR Deebo Samuel made just one catch (for 11 yards) and rushed for only 9 yards on 3 carries in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Niners WR Brandon Aiyuk racked up 8 receptions for 147 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. He tied TE George Kittle for the team lead in catches and targets (12), while delivering 83 more yards than anyone else on the team.
Raiders TE Brock Bowers led the team with 12 targets, 8 catches, and 97 yards against Denver. He added his first career TD.
Cardinals QB Kyler Murray posted a top 5 fantasy line among Week 5 QBs, with the Sunday night and Monday night games yet to go. He ran for 83 yards on 7 carries, including a 50-yard TD scamper. Murray added 195 yards and a TD passing, with 1 INT and a sack taken.
Texans WR Tank Dell caught all four of his targets for 38 yards in Sunday's win over the Bills. He also carried once for a loss of five yards. The quiet outing was even more disappointing considering WR Nico Collins missed the entire second half with a hamstring injury. Dell ranked just fourth on the Texans in targets with a 10.5% share.
Commanders RB Brian Robinson rushed only 7 times for 18 yards in Sunday's win over Cleveland. He scored a pair of goal line TDs to save his fantasy day.
Bills TE Dalton Kincaid managed just two catches for 34 yards in the Week 5 loss to the Texans. He tied for the team lead with six targets for a 20% share. But QB Josh Allen posted a career-worst 30% completion rate, including connecting on just two of six passes to Kincaid.
Despite a late "questionable" tag ahead of Sunday's win over the 49ers, Cardinals TE Trey McBride played a full snap allotment and led the team in targets. McBride played more snaps than any non-QB Arizona skill-position player. He also drew two more targets than any teammate (9), snagged a team-high 6 receptions, and finished with 53 yards.
Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. snagged an 85-yard catch-and-run TD in Sunday's victory over the Colts. That play drove his 5-122-1 line, the first 100-yard game of his career. WR Christian Kirk drew just 4 targets but caught them all for 88 yards. WR Gabe Davis also threw 4 targets, catching three for 38 yards and losing a fumble.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence threw for 371 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Colts. He also tossed an INT but took no sacks and piloted the game-winning FG drive.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby rushed 13 times for 101 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Colts. He more than doubled Travis Etienne's carry count (6) and drew his first target of the season. Bigsby took that for a 28-yard reception.
Raiders QB Gardner Minshew was benched near the end of the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. It's the second time he's been yanked this season. Minshew completed 12 of 17 passes for 137 yards, one TD, and two INTs, leading Vegas to just 10 points. We'll see how QB Aidan O'Connell fares the rest of the way and what the Raiders do at QB moving forward. It'll continue to be a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson remained unwatchable in a Week 5 loss to Washington. The former Texan threw for only 125 yards and 1 TD on 15-of-28 passing.
