Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bills TE Dalton Kincaid managed just two catches for 34 yards in the Week 5 loss to the Texans. He tied for the team lead with six targets for a 20% share. But QB Josh Allen posted a career-worst 30% completion rate, including connecting on just two of six passes to Kincaid.
Despite a late "questionable" tag ahead of Sunday's win over the 49ers, Cardinals TE Trey McBride played a full snap allotment and led the team in targets. McBride played more snaps than any non-QB Arizona skill-position player. He also drew two more targets than any teammate (9), snagged a team-high 6 receptions, and finished with 53 yards.
Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. snagged an 85-yard catch-and-run TD in Sunday's victory over the Colts. That play drove his 5-122-1 line, the first 100-yard game of his career. WR Christian Kirk drew just 4 targets but caught them all for 88 yards. WR Gabe Davis also threw 4 targets, catching three for 38 yards and losing a fumble.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence threw for 371 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Colts. He also tossed an INT but took no sacks and piloted the game-winning FG drive.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby rushed 13 times for 101 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the Colts. He more than doubled Travis Etienne's carry count (6) and drew his first target of the season. Bigsby took that for a 28-yard reception.
Raiders QB Gardner Minshew was benched near the end of the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. It's the second time he's been yanked this season. Minshew completed 12 of 17 passes for 137 yards, one TD, and two INTs, leading Vegas to just 10 points. We'll see how QB Aidan O'Connell fares the rest of the way and what the Raiders do at QB moving forward. It'll continue to be a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson remained unwatchable in a Week 5 loss to Washington. The former Texan threw for only 125 yards and 1 TD on 15-of-28 passing.
Colts WR Alec Pierce racked up 134 yards and a TD on just 3 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. He crew just 3 targets, tying for sixth on the team, but continued to run the second-most pass routes. Pierce trailed only WR Michael Pittman Jr. in that category.
49ers kicker Jake Moody has been ruled out of Week 5 with a right ankle injury. We'll see if he's able to get cleared in time for a Thursday night game at Seattle.
Colts QB Joe Flacco threw for 359 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, filling in for the injured Anthony Richardson. He completed 33 of 44 passes, took 4 sacks, avoided INTs, but lost a fumble. Flacco hit WR Michael Pittman Jr., WR Alec Pierce, and TE Mo Alie-Cox for scores. He also rushed for 22 yards on three attempts.
Bills QB Josh Allen completed just nine of 30 passes for 131 yards and one TD in the Week 5 loss to the Texans. The majority of that production came on a 49-yard score to WR Keon Coleman. Otherwise, Allen mustered just 82 scoreless passing yards. The nine completions were his fewest in a full game since his 2018 rookie campaign. It was just his fifth career game with fewer than 140 passing yards. Allen at least added 54 rushing yards on four carries. He went for a concussion check after his head slammed against the turf in the fourth quarter, but Allen was evidently cleared and did not miss an offensive snap.
Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert returned from a chest injury to post 19 carries for 80 yards against New England. In a close victory, Miami ran 75 plays and stuck to a run-heavy game plan. De'Von Achane also left in the 1st quarter with a concussion.
Colts RB Trey Sermon led the backfield in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, with Jonathan Taylor out. But that meant just 10 carries on a pass-heavy day. Sermon ran for 38 yards and added 25 more yards on 6 receptions. He beat RB Tyler Goodson 6-3 on targets (and catches) despite running three fewer routes. Goodson finished with 5-26 rushing and 3-31 receiving.
Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson didn’t start in Sunday’s loss to Miami. Still, he led the team in carries (12) and yards (89). He also scored his third TD of the season.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow went off completing 30 of 39 passes for 391 yards with five TDs and one INT.. Not be outdone, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson also had a huge game going 26 of 42 for 348 yards and 4 TDs passing while adding 55 yards on the ground.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews failed to score again ending up with a stat line of four catches on five targets for 55 yards against the Bengals. The rest of the Ravens TE room found the end zone though with Isaiah Likely catching all three targets for 13 yards and two TDs and Charlie Kolar catching three of four targets for 64 yards including long 55-yard TD.
Bengals WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins had an absolute monster game in the teams OT loss against the Baltimore Ravens. Chase caught 10 passes on 12 targets for 193 yards and two TDs. Higgins had nine catches on 14 targets for 83 yards and two TDs himself.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman caught four of eight targets for 58 yards and a TD. The Ravens WR was second on the team in targets and appears locked in as a starter moving forward.
Ravens WR Zay Flowers had a career-high in receiving yards with 111. He totaled seven catches on 12 targets, but did not find the end zone. He also added a rush for nine yards.
Bears WR DJ Moore finally had a breakout performance catching five of eight targets for 105 yards and two TDs. He and Williams seemed to finally connect.
