Colts WR Alec Pierce racked up 134 yards and a TD on just 3 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. He crew just 3 targets, tying for sixth on the team, but continued to run the second-most pass routes. Pierce trailed only WR Michael Pittman Jr. in that category.
Pierce's 3 targets trailed the 7 for rookie WR Adonai Mitchell. But he ran nearly four times as many routes -- 40-12, according to Pro Football Focus.
The Colts leaned particularly hard on Pierce late in a game that found them trailing the entire second half. All of Pierce's receptions came in the game's final 5 minutes. Mitchell played just one snap in the fourth quarter, according to PFF.
Neither guy should be in week-to-week lineup plans unless you play in an especially deep league.
And QB Anthony Richardson's impending return from an oblique injury will hurt the team's passing volume.
