Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Texans RB Joe Mixon's right ankle got rolled up on in the third quarter of Sunday night's game vs. the Bears. He hobbled off the field and headed into the medical tent. We'll update Mixon's status when we know more. RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring) is inactive tonight, leaving the backfield to Cam Akers and Dare Ogunbowale.

Update: Mixon is officially questionable to return.

Update: Mixon returned later in the third quarter.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown's left knee was looked at by trainers twice during Sunday's loss to the Bucs. HC Dan Campbell didn't express much concern afterward. "He's alright. I don't think it's anything long-term, so that's good news," Campbell said. But St. Brown's status will be worth keeping an eye on this coming week. We'll see if we get an update on his status on Monday.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta mustered only two catches for 13 scoreless yards in the Week 2 loss to the Bucs. That's even more disappointing when you consider the Lions ran 84 plays and threw 56 passes. LaPorta's three targets tied for sixth on the team and were just 5.4% of the Lions' total. His playing time remained solid, at least: An 88% snap rate and 83% route rate.

Cowboys TE Luke Schoonmaker tied for the team lead with 6 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Saints. His 6 targets and 43 yards each ranked third on the team. That comes out to just 7.2 yards per catch, though. And Schoonmaker split playing time with TE Brevyn Spann-Ford.

Steelers WR George Pickens took a step back in a Week 2 win over Denver. After a dynamic opener, the young WR managed only 2 catches for 29 yards on Sunday. However, Pickens came close to a huge fantasy day.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence labored through a Week 2 loss vs. Cleveland. Lawrence posted 220 scoreless yards, while the Jags offense totaled one TD. At one point, the Jags went 11 straight possessions (starting in Week 1) without a score.

Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle edged Ezekiel Elliot for the backfield lead in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the Saints. Dowdle carried seven times to Elliott's six and beat Elliott 5-3 in targets. He tallied 30 yards rushing (4.3 per carry) and 29 receiving (7.3 per catch). Elliott went 6-16 rushing and 2-16 receiving. Second-year RB Deuce Vaughn also mixed in for 4-11 rushing and a 6-yard catch. He bumped from just two snaps in the opener to 10 against New Orleans.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Titans HC Brian Callahan said he wanted a closer workload split between RBs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. But with Spears leaving Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, Pollard again finished as the clear lead back with 21 touches.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott threw for 293 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Saints.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco is scheduled for testing on an ankle injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Bengals, HC Andy Reid said afterward. ESPN's Jeff Darlington interviewed Pacheco after the game and "got zero sense he’s dealing with anything serious." We should get an update on Pacheco tomorrow. His absence would leave Kansas City's backfield to Carson Steele and Samaje Perine. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is out at least another two games.

Update: Pacheco left the stadium in a walking boot and on crutches, according to Darlington.

Cardinals TE Trey McBride had a solid day though he failed to find the end zone. He caught all six of his targets for 67 yards. The Cardinals rolled over the Rams, scoring 41 points, and their number two TE Elijah Higgins caught a TD. It was still a promising volume day for McBride.

Rams RB Kyren Williams ran the ball 12 times for 25 yards and a TD. He also caught four passes for 27 yards. With WR Cooper Kupp being knocked out of the game, the Cardinals focused in on the run and held Williams to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. Though his fantasy day wasn’t awful, it was less than is expected from the stud RB.

Cardinals RB James Conner ran the ball 21 times for 122 yards and a TD against the Los Angeles Rams. He also added one catch for two yards in a dominating win by the Cardinals.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray dominated the Rams at home going 17 for 21 for 266 yards and three TDs. He also ran the ball five times for 59 yards. He threw two TDs to WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and another to TE Elijah Higgins.

Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. bounced back from a one catch Week 1 performance to catch four of eight targets for 130 yards and two TDs. He absolutely dominated the Rams secondary, getting open with ease and linking up with QB Kyler Murray on multiple deep passes, averaging 32.5 yards per catch.

Saints QB Derek Carr delivered a solid stat line in Sunday's beatdown of the Cowboys: 243 passing yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, and a 1-yard rushing score on his only attempt. He went just 11-of-16 passing for the game and now has just 39 total pass attempts through two victories.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Bears. RBs Cam Akers and Dare Ogunbowale are active behind workhorse Joe Mixon.

Bears WR Rome Odunze (knee) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Texans. The rookie only got in a limited practice on Friday – but he said the knee is just a pain-tolerance issue. So there’s a chance he’s able to play his usual snapload tonight. Chicago could certainly use him with WR Keenan Allen out.

Bears WR Keenan Allen (heel) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Texans. HC Matt Eberflus downplayed this heel injury on Wednesday, but it sounds like Allen didn’t progress throughout the week. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 3’s meeting vs. the Colts.

Saints WR Chris Olave caught four passes for 81 yards on a team-high six targets in Sunday's blowout victory at Dallas. His 4 receptions tied WR Rashid Shaheed for the team lead, while the yardage trailed only Shaheed, who caught a 70-yard TD.
