Week 4 FanDuel Picks

By Kevin English | Updated on Sat, 28 Sep 2024 . 8:29 PM EDT

Cash Game Quarterbacks

Justin Fields, Steelers ($6,800) vs. Colts

Fields delivered for us last week with nearly 20 fantasy points.

He’s poised to start for another week, and there’s a chance his rushing load ticks up with Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren banged up.

Fields has clearly improved as a passer, too. His +6.6% completion percentage over expected ranks third-highest league-wide.

Next up is a Colts defense down DL DeForest Buckner, DL Kwity Paye, and CB Kenny Moore II.

Also in my player pool: Jayden Daniels

Tournament Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray, Cardinals ($8,700) vs. Commanders

Murray squares off against a Commanders pass rush that’s 31st in pressure rate.

They’re 30th in sack rate.

If Murray’s given time, he should find success against a beatable Washington secondary. Sure, he’ll be without TE Trey McBride, but that’ll only raise the ceiling on a Murray-Marvin Harrison Jr. stack.

Also in my player pool: C.J. Stroud, Caleb Williams

Cash Game Running Back

Breece Hall, Jets ($8,000) vs. Broncos

Hall pops up No. 1 in our RB $/point rankings.

Despite the emergence of Braelon Allen, Hall still projects for 20 touches as a 7.5-point home favorite. The dip in price only adds to his appeal.

James Conner, Cardinals ($7,500) vs. Commanders

Home favorite. Positive matchup. Secure workload.

What else could you want here?

Conner struggled in Week 3, but chalk it up to a brutal matchup vs. Detroit. He remains a strong volume bet against a Washington unit sitting 28th in rush defense DVOA.

Also in my player pool: Josh Jacobs, Chuba Hubbard

Tournament Running Back

Brian Robinson, Commanders ($7,300) at Cardinals

Jayden Daniels will draw most of the attention. But Robinson has quietly put together a solid start to the 2024 campaign.

Among 32 RBs with 30+ carries, he ranks second in yards after contact per attempt and sixth in PFF’s Elusive Rating.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals enter Week 4 without DT Justin Jones, who was placed on IR.

Zack Moss, Bengals ($6,900) at Panthers

The Panthers have given up at least one rushing score in each game.

Moss looks like the best bet to capitalize, as he remains Cincy’s lead back. On Monday night, he beat Chase Brown in snaps (47-15), routes run (29-5), targets (6-3) and carries (12-7).

Also in my player pool: Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, Derrick Henry, Cam Akers

Cash Game Wide Receivers

Nico Collins, Texans ($7,700) vs. Jaguars

Collins recently popped up on the injury report. But on Friday, he declared himself “good to go” for Sunday’s matchup vs. a Jacksonville squad down top CB Tyson Campbell.

Factoring in the likely absence of Tank Dell, Collins is clearly underpriced at $7.7K.

Diontae Johnson, Panthers ($6,200) vs. Bengals

Johnson sits No. 2 in our $/point ranks at WR, just behind Nico Collins.

Of course, Johnson erupted for a huge line last week alongside Andy Dalton (8-122-1). Carolina figures to lean pass in the second half as 4.5-point underdogs. They also draw a Bengals pass D that’s surrendered the fourth-highest EPA per pass thus far.

Also in my player pool: Marvin Harrison, Stefon Diggs, Zay Flowers

Tournament Wide Receivers

Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals ($8,200) vs. Commanders

The Commanders travel out west after playing a road Monday night game.

Harrison figures to see a volume boost in this one, especially with Trey McBride (concussion) sidelined. After a quiet opener, the rookie has soaked up 19 targets over his past two.

Washington’s given up a league-high 9 TDs to WRs.

A.J. Brown, Eagles ($8,100) at Buccaneers

Brown returned to practice on Friday. His looks truly questionable, but any lingering uncertainty will only help suppress his ownership rate.

We know DeVonta Smith won’t play coming off a concussion. So if Brown’s recovered from his hamstring issue, he could see a huge target share against the Bucs. Note that Tampa Bay will remain without S Antoine Winfield Jr.

SEPTEMBER 28 UPDATE: Brown was ruled out on Saturday. I'm not chasing any Philly fill-ins against Tampa Bay.

Also in my player pool: Mike Evans, D.J. Moore, Tee Higgins, Xavier Worthy, George Pickens, Rashid Shaheed, Tre Tucker

Cash Game Tight End

Brock Bowers, Raiders ($6,500) vs. Browns

The Raiders will take the field down Davante Adams and Michael Mayer. Admas’ absence removes 9 targets per game (25.2%).

Volume was already an ally for the rookie. Entering Week 4, he tied for first in TE targets (21).

Also in my player pool: Zach Ertz

Tournament Tight End

Tyler Conklin, Jets ($5,100) vs. Broncos

Conklin provides some much-needed salary relief.

But it’s more than just the cost-savings that are relevant here.

Through three games, Conklin sits third at the position in routes run. Conklin also drew a solid 17.5% target share in his last outing.

Perhaps most vitally: Week 3 saw Aaron Rodgers play by far his best game of the season (vs. New England).

Also in my player pool: Pat Freiermuth, Kyle Pitts

Defense

*At defense, I’m generally looking to spend down across formats.

Pittsburgh Steelers ($4,500) vs. Indianapolis Colts

Pittsburgh ranks top-seven in sack and pressure rate.

Now, they draw a Colts offense with a major wild card at QB. Per PFF, Anthony Richardson hits the weekend with the position’s highest turnover-worthy play rate (8.0%).

Plus, the Colts are implied for only 19 points.

Also in my player pool: Raiders, Texans
