Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Niners TE George Kittle led the team in targets (7), receptions (6), and receiving yards (92) in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. That marked his sixth straight game with at least 4 receptions and 40 yards. That's Kittle's longest such streak since 2018.

The Chiefs lost WR Rashee Rice to a knee injury early in their Week 3 win over the Chargers. Since then, No. 2 TE Noah Gray has seen his route and target shares increase.

Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt handled 73% of the team's RB rushes in Sunday's win over the 49ers. That gave him 22 attempts for 78 yards (3.5 per carry) and 2 TDs. Hunt also saw increased usage in the passing game. His 53% route share marked a season high and beat Samaje Perine (34.4%) for the second straight game.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that they are designating QB Tua Tagovailoa to return from IR this week and plan to have him practice Wednesday. Tagovailoa still must clear the concussion protocol before playing in games, but McDaniel said they hope to have him ready to play Sunday against the Cardinals.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Monday that WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will miss next Sunday's game against the Raiders with the injury to his right hamstring.

Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy caught just three balls for 19 yards in Sunday's win over the 49ers. QB Patrick Mahomes managed only 154 yards on 16-of-27 passing, with 0 TDs and 2 INTs. Worthy was one of just four Chiefs to catch more than one pass. Mahomes narrowly missed the rookie for what would have been a 71-yard TD on the second play of the third quarter, though. The QB not overthrowing Worthy on that one would have made the wideout's week look much different.

As your Week 7 fantasy score has already told you, 49ers WR Deebo Samuel barely saw the field in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs because of an illness. We learned about this just ahead of the game, but The Athletic's Matt Barrows reported at the time that Samuel was still expected to play. He technically did ... for 4 snaps.

Giants rookie TE Theo Johnson played 52 of the 58 offensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, compared with 15 snaps combined for fellow TEs Chris Manhertz and Daniel Bellinger. Yet it was Bellinger drawing the only target among them for the game.

The Giants pulled QB Daniel Jones for the fourth quarter of Sunday's lopsided loss to the Eagles. He completed 14 of 21 passes for just 99 yards while taking 7 sacks before that departure. Drew Lock entered to go 3-for-8 with 6 yards passing.

Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with his broken thumb, according to NFL Network. He'll be placed on IR but should be able to return this season. Vegas will now turn back to QB Gardner Minshew, who's completed 65.5% of his passes at 6.7 yards per attempt with four TDs and eight INTs this season. Consider it a lateral move for the Raiders offense.

Where would you have guessed Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson ranked among NFL WRs in total targets before reading that headline? Robinson's 67 targets through Week 7 trails only Jets WR Garrett Wilson (75). He also ranks fourth at the position in targets per game. He added a team-high 9 targets to his season total in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Rookie WR Malik Nabers garnered 8 targets in his return from a two-game concussion.

Additional testing has confirmed that Browns QB Deshaun Watson tore his right Achilles in the Week 7 loss to the Bengals. Watson's 2024 season is over, although he should have a good chance to be ready for the start of the 2025 campaign. QB Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles on October 29, 2023 and was ready in plenty of time for Week 1. Watson's game depends much more on mobility than Cousins', though. And, of course, it remains to be seen if Watson has a job waiting for him next year. He was one of the very worst QBs in the league this season, ranking 23rd in completion rate (63.4%), 31st in yards per attempt (5.3), and 21st in Pro Football Focus passing grade (63.4). Watson still has two years remaining on his fully guaranteed contract.

Giants WR Malik Nabers returned from a two-game concussion for Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He managed just 4 receptions and 41 yards and even trailed WR Wan'Dale Robinson by 1 target. But Nabers' 8 still accounted for 27.6% of the Giants' total pass attempts. That included 28.6% of QB Daniel Jones' 21 attempts; 25% of replacement QB Drew Lock's eight throws.

Rookie RB Tyrone Tracy played 39 of the Giants' 58 snaps (67.2%) in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. RB Devin Singletary got onto the field for just 12, with RB Eric Gray jumping in for 6 snaps.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is averaging the fewest fantasy points per game among his four seasons as starter. And the problem isn't his rushing. Hurts is actually up 1.3 carries per game over last year -- albeit at a career-low 3.5 yards per carry. He's also on pace for his fourth straight season of 10+ rushing scores. But Philly's pass less than last year.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught just one pass for a loss of 2 yards in Sunday's lopsided victory over the Giants. His biggest problem was low team passing volume. QB Jalen Hurts threw just 14 passes for the game. WR A.J. Brown led the team with 5 targets. RB Saquon Barkley followed with 3 targets, and Smith was the only other Eagle to see more than 1.

Seahawks WR DK Metcalf suffered a knee injury late in the game against the Falcons yesterday and was carted off the field. Despite being carted off, his knee injury is not considered serious. More testing will be done today to understand the full extent.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud threw for a meager 86 yards, with no TDs or INTs, in Sunday's narrow loss at Green Bay. He completed just 10 of 21 pass attempts, with half of those completions going to WR Stefon Diggs. The QB's yardage has dipped significantly through two games without WR Nico Collins.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is on track to return on November 10th against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. There have been no setbacks with his Achilles tendinitis and the 49ers are planning for him to return in about three weeks.

X-rays on Commanders QB Jayden Daniels' ribs showed no fractures, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Daniels is scheduled for additional testing to get a better idea of his injury. Former NFL head team Dr. David Chao suspects Daniels is dealing with a rib cartilage injury that could cost him this weekend's game vs. the Bears. We should learn more over the next 24 hours. QB Marcus Mariota played well in relief of Daniels against a bad Panthers defense, completing 18 of 23 passes for 205 yards and two TDs. He also ran 11 times for 34 yards. The task will be much tougher if Mariota starts vs. the Bears this weekend.
