49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is on track to return on November 10th against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. There have been no setbacks with his Achilles tendinitis and the 49ers are planning for him to return in about three weeks.
Ian Rappoport of NFL.com: “The San Francisco 49ers play the Dallas Cowboys on sunday. Christian McCaffrey not expected to be available for that game. My understanding has been the target for McCaffrey is early November. November 10th is the first time we may see Christian McCaffrey on the field.”
There is optimism around McCaffrey returning with him being described as "all systems go" to ramp up and be ready after the bye week. With the 49ers falling to 3-4, they certainly could use McCaffrey as part of the offense.
It is unlikely he instantly is old McCaffrey in his first week back, especially if his Achilles and heels are still dealing with pain, but managers who drafted him at the 1.01 will be happy to have McCaffrey available for their lineups.
Current starting RB Jordan Mason will take a step back, but he will likely to continue having a role to keep McCaffrey fresh moving forward.
