Niners TE George Kittle led the team in targets (7), receptions (6), and receiving yards (92) in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. That marked his sixth straight game with at least 4 receptions and 40 yards. That's Kittle's longest such streak since 2018.
Kittle had one other stretch of consecutive games with 4+ receptions in the first half of 2021 but fell short of 40 yards in two of those games.
We've always known him to rank among the league's best TEs and present a high fantasy ceiling. But Kittle's situation has often meant volatility in his target counts.
That hasn't been an issue this year. And Sunday's Brandon Aiyuk injury can only boost Kittle's target floor the rest of the way.
The veteran is one of the position's few solutions this season. And he looks likely to remain under contract with the 49ers through 2025, his age-32 season.
You could consider trying to move Kittle in your dynasty league, especially if you fall out of contention for 2024.
At 31 -- as of Oct. 9 -- Kittle's career-high fantasy points per game are already defying odds. Historically, even top-level TEs deliver 85% of their peak production in that age-31 campaign; 80% at age 32 (according to our player-aging data).
Of course, make sure it's the right move for you. It's also OK to just let the veteran continue helping this year's lineup.
