Rookie RB Tyrone Tracy played 39 of the Giants' 58 snaps (67.2%) in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. RB Devin Singletary got onto the field for just 12, with RB Eric Gray jumping in for 6 snaps.
Tracy got just 6 carries to Singletary's 5 on a low-volume rushing day in a lopsided loss. He also garnered just 3 targets vs. 1 apiece for Singletary and Gray, despite running 27 pass routes to their combined 10.
This marked the first game back for Singletary after he missed the previous two weeks with a groin injury. Perhaps that factored into his playing time. Singletary remained limited throughout the practice week but carried no injury designation into the game.
HC Brian Daboll said before Sunday's game, though, that Tracy had earned "plenty of playing time."
We'll continue projecting the rookie ahead of Singletary for at least the Week 8 matchup at Pittsburgh. And we'll see where this backfield goes.
The low-ceiling Giants offense and tough Steelers defense make neither Giants RB especially attractive for Week 8 fantasy use.
