Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks TE Noah Fant has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury for the past several days and there has been little update to his injury. HC Mike Macdonald said he was optimistic that Fant would be ready for Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, a spot where Fant could be a red zone threat. The Seahawks new passing offense under OC Ryan Grubb could favor Fant at the TE position.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin suggested Thursday that QB Russell Wilson remains the favorite to be the Week 1 starter. Tomlin also said that Wilson will start Saturday's preseason finale.

Bills HC Sean McDermott said Thursday that there's optimism that WR Curtis Samuel (turf toe) could be ready for Week 1, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. McDermott added that he didn't want to fully commit to Samuel being ready because his situation remains "murky."

The Commanders have agreed to trade WR Jahan Dotson to the Eagles. They're sending Dotson plus a fifth-round pick to their division rival for a third-round pick and two seventh-rounders -- all in the 2025 draft, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and other reports.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs’ frame and starting role appears to have him set to be the main receiver target in the red zone. Last season, Doubs and WR Jayden Reed tied with 17 red-zone targets each. Speculation has Doubs’ red zone targets increasing this year.

The Athletic's Paul Dehner writes that "expectations are high" for Bengals TE Mike Gesicki this season. Gesicki has been lining up both inline and in the slot in camp practices.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell returned to practice on Wednesday. He ended up missing a little over two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Browns held QB Deshaun Watson out for nearly all of team drills Wednesday because of what HC Kevin Stefanski called "general arm soreness."

Broncos HC Sean Payton named QB Bo Nix his starting QB on Wednesday. This was the most likely scenario when Denver took Nix with the 12th overall pick of this spring's draft. Nix bolstered his case with two strong preseason outings, completing 76.7% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with two TDs and zero INTs.

Pro Football Network's Adam Beasley confirms that Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (thumb) is fully expected to be ready for the start of the season. Hill had a protective brace on his right thumb on Tuesday and will not practice on Wednesday. But the Dolphins "do not have a high level of concern" about the injury, per Beasley.

Raiders TE Brock Bowers is currently sidelined with a sore foot, according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur. The rookie missed Saturday's preseason game and remained sidelined for Tuesday's practice. There's been no update from the team on the extent of Bowers' injury or his timeline for return.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb's holdout should be done soon. "I've heard from two different league sources that Lamb's deal in Dallas is getting done soon, in plenty of time for him to be on the field and fully up to speed when the Cowboys take their first snap of the regular season in Cleveland."

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that RB Jaylen Warren will be sidelined this week but that his hamstring injury is "not anything that's a long-term concern."

Colts TE Jelani Woods will have surgery this week to repair his turf toe and will be out "indefinitely," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Saints on Tuesday activated TE Juwan Johnson from the physically unable to perform list. He had foot surgery in June and had been rehabbing since. But Johnson returns to the field with more than two weeks to prepare for the regular-season opener.

Lions HC Dan Campbell said Tuesday that RB Jahmyr Gibbs is making progress with his injured hamstring and should be back on the field next week.

Patriots WRs Ja'Lynn Polk and Tyquan Thornton appear headed to starting roles for the start of the regular season. Polk has been working with the top offensive unit throughout the week, while Thornton continues playing the X WR role with that same first team.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is dealing with a minor injury, wearing a removable brace on his right hand during practice today. He did some on field work, but did not catch any passes. HC Mike McDaniel has noted that the team will take increased precaution with injuries for the remaining practices.

Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby had a buzzy summer last year and opened the season as Jacksonville's clear No. 2 RB. But he wound up having an awful rookie season, averaging 2.6 yards per carry, fumbling twice, and dropping three of his four targets. Bigsby is again having a strong summer and drawing praise from coaches and beat writers. So will he actually be a factor this year?

Jaguars WR Christian Kirk will not practice this week due to a calf injury, HC Doug Pederson said Monday. Kirk missed the final few practices of last week with what Pederson at that point called a "minor" injury. Pederson again expressed optimism today, saying that Kirk is "feeling good."
