Johnny Wilson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. Smith is unlikely to clear protocol in time for this weekend's game vs. the Bucs. And Brown looks no better than 50/50 to make it back for that one. If both guys are out, Philadelphia would be down to WRs Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson on the active roster. WR Parris Campbell was elevated from the practice squad for last week's game and would likely play again on Sunday. RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert would be the focal points of the offense.

Eagles WR Britain Covey broke a bone in his left shoulder in Sunday's win at New Orleans and is expected to miss at least six weeks, according to Philly radio voice Merrill Reese. Covey played just seven snaps before leaving the Week 3 game but nabbed 6 receptions the week before and has been the primary punt returner.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith left in the fourth quarter of the game at New Orleans with a concussion. That obviously means he'll miss the rest of the game and will then need to pass through the league protocol before returning.

Eagles WR Jahan Dotson did -- according to the numbers -- run as the No. 2 WR in A.J. Brown's absence for Monday night's loss to the Falcons. But you wouldn't have had an easy time finding him. Despite running a route on 30 of QB Jalen Hurts' 35 drobacks (85.7%), Dotson drew just 1 target among 30 pass attempts. That trailed DeVonta Smith's team-leading total by nine, fell four short of RB Saquon Barkley, and even checked in five short of No. 3 WR Britain Covey.

The Commanders have agreed to trade WR Jahan Dotson to the Eagles. They're sending Dotson plus a fifth-round pick to their division rival for a third-round pick and two seventh-rounders -- all in the 2025 draft, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and other reports.

Eagles WR Johnny Wilson has had a strong start to training camp and is making a run at the No. 3 WR job, according to The Athletic's Brooks Kubena. Wilson has started getting first-team reps, while WR Parris Campbell is sidelined with an injury.

The Eagles selected Florida State WR Johnny Wilson in Round 6 of the NFL Draft. Wilson started out as an Arizona State Sun Devil, recruited by current Raiders HC Antonio Pierce. But the four-star California native would require patience before making his mark. 2020 turned up a pandemic-shortened season. Then in 2021, Wilson missed seven games with a hamstring. His fortunes changed in 2022 following a move to Florida State. The 6’6, 231-pounder broke through with 43-898-5 in 13 games. That’s 20.9 yards per catch – plus an eye-popping 3.36 yards per route run. Wilson’s production predictably dipped in 2023 (41-617-2). FSU welcomed in transfer WR Keon Coleman, while Wilson missed three games with an injury. Despite the up-and-down college career, the 23-year-old has a chance to stick as an outside WR in the pros. He’s a rare athlete at his size, and he proved it at the Combine with a 9.70 Relative Athletic Score. His 84.5-inch wingspan is simply enormous. This isn’t a great spot for Wilson’s dynasty value, though. The Eagles have WR A.J. Brown signed through 2029 and WR DeVonta Smith through 2028.
