Seahawks TE Noah Fant has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury for the past several days and there has been little update to his injury. HC Mike Macdonald said he was optimistic that Fant would be ready for Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, a spot where Fant could be a red zone threat. The Seahawks new passing offense under OC Ryan Grubb could favor Fant at the TE position.
Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic: "Mike Macdonald didn’t get into specifics but says they’re “optimistic” Noah Fant and Pharaoh Brown will be available Week 1."
It sounds like Macdonald feels Fant will be ready for Week 1 without restrictions after he has been sidelined for several days.
Fant practicing in the lead-up to Week 1 would make us feel better about his health and availability, but it should be expected that he is on the field.
Fant remains a sleeper for us as a late-round TE who can outperform his ADP, especially in good match-ups.
With Fant going in many 10-team leagues as a last round pick, he comes cheaply with plenty of upside.
We will continue to update on Fant's injury and availability. Hopefully he can stay healthy during the season and we can get more details on what is sidelining him right now.
