Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Raiders TE Brock Bowers (foot) is not listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but a full-go in Friday's practice. The team never expressed any concern over this foot issue, and we’re not expecting it to be a factor in Sunday’s opener vs. the Chargers.
Chargers WR D.J. Chark (hip) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. That should give WR Quentin Johnston a shot at a full slate of snaps, although he still shouldn’t be anywhere near fantasy lineups.
Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Eagles. The rookie missed a ton of time this summer and won’t be a factor in the short term. RB Emanuel Wilson (hip) and practice-squad call-up RB Ellis Merriweather are active behind RB Josh Jacobs, who figures to dominate touches tonight.
Packers TE Tucker Kraft (back) is active for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. He projects to operate as the No. 2 TE behind Luke Musgrave and is only in play in one-game DFS contests.
Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final Week 1 injury report. Lock him into fantasy lineups for Sunday night’s likely shootout vs. the Lions.
Bills WR Curtis Samuel (toe) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s opener vs. the Cardinals. That suggests that Samuel will be ready for a full workload, although we’d still like to wait at least a week before using Samuel in fantasy lineups coming off the turf toe.
Dolphins WR Malik Washington (quad) is out for Sunday’s opener vs. the Jaguars. The rookie went from limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday to no practice on Friday. With WR Odell Beckham on the PUP list, Miami is woefully thin at WR entering Week 1. Braxton Berrios will be the No. 3 WR on Sunday. Grant DuBose is currently the only other WR on the roster besides Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. RB De’Von Achane and TE Jonnu Smith could be big parts of the passing game this weekend.
The Raiders have ruled Edge Malcolm Koonce out for Sunday's opener against the Chargers because of a knee injury he suffered in Thursday's practice. HC Antonio Pierce refused to give any more details about the injury while talking to the media Friday. We'll see whether this issue will sideline Koonce beyond Week 1. His absence obviously helps the Chargers offfense, though not enough to alter our Week 1 rankings. It should also mean a start for either Janarius Robinson or 2023 first-round pick Tyree Wilson. If Wilson doesn't play meaningful snaps in this game, it'll be a pretty bad sign for his 2024 outlook (and beyond).
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 1 injury report after putting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. It doesn’t look like the hamstring will be a factor in Sunday’s opener vs. the Falcons. But, with QB Justin Fields projected to start, Warren sits in low RB3 territory in the Week 1 Rankings.
Steelers WR Roman Wilson (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. He got in three limited practices this week, so he has a good chance to make his NFL debut in Week 2. Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin figure to operate as Pittsburgh’s No. 2 and 3 WRs in the opener, but neither is a viable fantasy play.
Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s opener vs. the Falcons. He experienced discomfort with his troublesome calf on Thursday and was limited again in Friday’s practice.
Colts K Matt Gay (hernia) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. He didn’t practice all week. We’ll see if the Colts make a move at kicker (Spencer Shrader is on the practice squad), but you should be avoiding this situation in Week 1 fantasy lineups.
Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. Hopefully Gibson isn’t in your Week 1 fantasy plans. His absence would leave RB Rhamondre Stevenson as something very close to an every-down back on Sunday.
Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. We’re tentatively expecting Hopkins to play but projecting his playing time and effectiveness to be reduced coming off the knee injury. He’s ideally on fantasy benches for Week 1.
Panthers RB Miles Sanders (finger) isn't listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He injured a finger in Wednesday's practice but was a full participant on Thursday and Friday. Sanders is not a Week 1 fantasy option but figures to siphon at least a handful of touches from lead back Chuba Hubbard.
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He popped up as limited in Wednesday’s practice but was a full-go in the final two workouts of the week. Pitts should be ready for a full slate of snaps in Sunday’s opener vs. the Steelers.
Bears WR Keenan Allen (heel) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we’re fully expecting Allen to play. He sits in low WR3 range in the Week 1 WR Rankings.
Vikings WR Jordan Addison (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 1 injury report. He was a full participant in Friday's practice. It all suggests that he'll be close to or at 100% for Sunday's opener vs. the Giants. That's good news for a Vikings offense that will be without TE T.J. Hockenson. Addison should see solid volume and is in the WR3 mix in this plus matchup. WR Jalen Nailor (ankle) is also off the final injury report.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins is listed as "Doubtful" for Week 1 after suffering a hamstring injury on Thursday in practice. He practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday and did not practice on Friday. A Doubtful tag means Higgins is assuredly out of the game against the Patriots.
Panthers TEs Tommy Tremble (hamstring, back) and Ian Thomas (calf) have been ruled out for Sunday's opener vs. the Saints.
