Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Raiders CB Nate Hobbs is inactive for today's game against the Jaguars because of illness.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby needs arthroscopic surgery on the ankle injury that has already knocked him out for Week 15. Crosby's expected to miss the rest of the season.
The Raiders have ruled Edge Maxx Crosby out for Monday night's game against the Falcons because of an ankle injury. That likely means more playing time for Edge K'Lavon Chaisson, but no other Raider can come close to replacing Crosby's impact. His absence makes Vegas far less attractive as a sneaky DST play. We'll see about Crosby's status for Week 16.
Raiders LB Robert Spillane (knee) is active for today's game against the Bengals. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
Raiders DT Christian Wilkins suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot Sunday against the Broncos. He had surgery this week and is out indefinitely, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (ankle) is active for today's game against the Broncos, as expected. LB Divine Deablo (oblique) is inactive. It'll be his third straight missed game. With third LB Luke Masterson landing on IR this week, Vegas will be down to some combo of Amari Burney and Amari Gainer vs. Denver. Deablo seems to be trending toward a Week 6 return.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby is expected to play today against the Broncos. He's officially questionable after managing just one limited practice this week on a high ankle sprain. Crosby played through the issue two weeks ago before missing Week 4. HC Antonio Pierce said this week that they have to protect Crosby from himself with these injury decisions at times. Early word that he'll return makes this seem like a better than game-time-decision situation. I bumped Crosby back up the Week 5 DL rankings some, though he remains short of his usual position. There's risk both to playing him and sitting him in IDP lineups this week.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby revealed after Sunday's loss to the Panthers that he's playing through a significant ankle injury. He was officially questionable for the game but expected to play -- and did.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby, DT Christian Wilkins, and Edge Tyree Wilson are active for today's game against the Panthers. Crosby and Wilson were expected to play, whereas Wilkins reportedly looked more questionable. That could limit his snap count vs. usual, but Wilkins should probably be in most IDP lineups as planned at this stage in the Week 3 slate.
The Raiders list Edge Maxx Crosby as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, but it doesn't sound like you need to worry about his availability. According to Levi Damien of Raiders Wire, HC Antonio Pierce said Friday: "He hasn't missed any practice. He hasn't missed a snap, and I don't expect him missing Sunday, either." Plan to have Crosby in your IDP lineups. Edge Tyree Wilson (knee) is also questionable but expected to play after putting in a full Friday practice. DT Christian Wilkins appears truly questionable with a knee injury that limited his practice all week. We'll check his status Sunday. The Raiders ruled out LB Divine Deablo (oblique, concussion). That makes Luke Masterson a starter.
The Raiders have ruled Edge Malcolm Koonce out for Sunday's opener against the Chargers because of a knee injury he suffered in Thursday's practice. HC Antonio Pierce refused to give any more details about the injury while talking to the media Friday. We'll see whether this issue will sideline Koonce beyond Week 1. His absence obviously helps the Chargers offfense, though not enough to alter our Week 1 rankings. It should also mean a start for either Janarius Robinson or 2023 first-round pick Tyree Wilson. If Wilson doesn't play meaningful snaps in this game, it'll be a pretty bad sign for his 2024 outlook (and beyond).
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (knee) is active for tonight's game against the Chargers. He should be fine to use as planned in your IDP lineups after playing through a doubtful tag two weeks ago and a questionable tag Sunday. There's some risk the short week leaves him less ready, but he also gets Easton Stick in the Chargers QB's first NFL start. So there's upside as well.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby is questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Chargers. Well bet on him playing through the knee injury once again after playing through a doubtful tag two weeks ago and a questionable designation last week. We’ll confirm Crosby ahead of the game
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (knee) is active for today's game against the Vikings, as expected. Crosby played through a doubtful designation last week and has said he's feeling better this week. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (knee) is officially questionable for the second straight week. He told NFL Network Friday, however, that he feels "incredible" and will play Sunday against the Vikings. We're not buying his assessment of the knee. But Crosby played through a doubtful tag after no practice in Week 13. This time around, he managed a limited Friday practice. Crosby played his smallest snap share of the season last time out, but that was still 82%. We'd go ahead and play Crosby in most cases. See where he sits in our Week 14 DL rankings.
Raiders LB Robert Spillane (ankle) is active for today's game against the Chiefs. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (knee) is active for today's game against the Chiefs. He becomes the second player this year to be active after being listed as doubtful, following Giants WR Darius Slayton earlier today. There's obviously still risk of re-injury and/or limited playing time. But Crosby's available if you were waiting for him in your IDP lineup.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby remains doubtful for today's game against the Chiefs with a knee injury that kept him out of practice all week. But multiple reports say he plans to try to play. How effective he'll be and how much of his normal snap share he'll get obviously remain to be seen. And, of course, there's still the chance he turns up inactive. If you have another viable option for your IDP lineup, we'd lean away from using Crosby -- especially in a lackluster matchup for his fantasy upside. But we'll update Crosby's status when the inactive come out around 3 p.m. ET.
Update: Fox's Jay Glazer calls Crosby "60-40" to play. We'd still try to use another IDP option but have re-added Crosby (low) in the Week 12 DL rankings.
Raiders Robert Spillane (ankle) and S Marcus Epps (neck) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Both guys spent the entire practice week limited. Spillane didn't miss a snap last week, so we'd bet on him being ready to play. Epps left that game after 16 snaps so carries a bit more risk. He's also a much lower-level IDP option. We'll check both players ahead of Sunday's game.
Raiders Edge Maxx Crosby (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chiefs ... but the team is still hoping he can get ready. Crosby has missed practice all week, but HC Antonio Pierce told the team website Friday that his star pass rusher is "getting treatment around the clock." Pierce added, "If he can be there Sunday, he'll be there." The doubtful tag, of course, means that you shouldn't expect to have Crosby available for your IDP lineup. No other true edge player has been getting even 50% snap share for the Raiders. No one on the team besides Crosby has more than 2.5 sacks. So you shouldn't be looking for any Raiders D-lineman to fill in for Crosby in your IDP lineup. We'll confirm his status ahead of Sunday's game.
