Bengals WR Tee Higgins is listed as "Doubtful" for Week 1 after suffering a hamstring injury on Thursday in practice. He practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday and did not practice on Friday. A Doubtful tag means Higgins is assuredly out of the game against the Patriots.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Higgins 2024 season is going to start off slow when he misses Week 1 with another hamstring injury. Our Injury Predictor gave him an 89.2% chance of missing time this season, and that has already happened in Week 1.
This marks his sixth hamstring injury in five years for Tee Higgins, a chronic problem that he can't seem to fully recover from.
In a contract year, Higgins really needed to not only perform well, but show he could stay healthy to get the best contract possible. This type of injury won't help his case.
With WR Ja'Marr Chase questionable, and marking himself as a game-time decision, the Bengals could be without their top two WRs for the game on Sunday.
WR Andrei Iosivas gets a boost, and perhaps we see a bit of rookie Jermaine Burton and veteran Trenton Irwin on the field.
Fantasy managers can take solace that this was announced ahead of time, unlike Higgins debacle in 2022 where he played one snap then not again for the rest of the game. With it being Week 1, and most players being healthy, he should be replaceable with a bench option on your fantasy team.
