Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Ferguson dodged a significant injury. He said that his pain was at a 10 on Sunday but a 0 on Wednesday. “Thankfully just a little bone bruise," he said. "I don’t even think it’s a Grade 1." It's all good news, but fantasy managers can't be counting on Ferguson playing in Week 2 vs. the Saints. We'll continue to track his status.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) will miss at least the next four games after going on IR. But HC Sean McVay suggested on Wednesday that Nacua might end up missing more time than that.

The Broncos are sending rookie RB Audric Estime to IR with an ankle injury. The Athletic's Nick Kosmider says only that Estime will "miss at least four games," which makes it sound like a shorter-term issue.

Bears WR Rome Odunze avoided a potential long-term knee injury during Week 1. He has been upgraded to day-to-day from week to week. HC Matt Eberflus indicated that it was not a serious injury. Odunze may be able to play in Week 2.

Titans HC Brian Callahan said Wednesday that WR DeAndre Hopkins' role should increase in this weekend's game vs. the Jets. Hopkins played just 17 snaps (27%) in the Week 1 loss to the Bears, coming off his summer knee injury.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins was not practicing on Wednesday due to his hamstring injury. Higgins missed Week 1, and his hamstring issue appears to be stopping him from practicing today. This is a poor start for Higgins, and he probably misses Week 2.

The Bills have ruled slot CB Taron Johnson out for Thursday night's game against the Dolphins. And it sounds like his forearm injury from the opener will remain an issue beyond that. HC Sean McDermott this week did not rule out the possibility of Johnson landing on IR.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel announced Wednesday that RB Raheem Mostert will miss Thursday night's game against the Bills because of a chest injury. That leaves the backfield to De'Von Achane (if he plays) and Jeff Wilson Jr. -- and likely means Miami will activate rookie RB Jaylen Wright.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) a "long shot" to play vs. the Vikings this weekend, based on conversations with the team. That echoes ESPN's Adam Schefter's sentiment on Monday night. McCaffrey is dealing with a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis. It's the latter giving him more trouble now.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane suffered an ankle injury against the Jaguars in Week 1 and appears headed to be game-time decision on Thursday Night Football against the Bills. With RB Raheem Mostert already out, RBs Jeffrey Wilson Jr. and Jaylen Wright will both have increased touches in Week 2.

The Packers are not placing QB Jordan Love (knee) on IR, HC Matt LaFleur said. That means the team believes there's a good chance that Love misses fewer than four games. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Saturday that Love's "initial timetable" for return was 3-6 weeks. It sounds like he's trending toward the short end of that span.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he's "optimistic" about TE Jake Ferguson's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. Ferguson was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said he'd "miss time." But it sounds like the injury might be less severe than initially thought. We'll keep an eye on Ferguson's status throughout this week.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin suggested Tuesday that RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) still isn't at 100%. Per PennLive's Nick Farabaugh, Tomlin said Warren is "healthy enough" but that it'd be a "slippery slope" to say that Warren is fully healthy.

Dolphins RBs De'Von Achane (ankle) and Raheem Mostert (chest) did not practice on Tuesday. We noticed both guys temporarily exit the Week 1 win over Jacksonville, but they both returned and finished out the game.

The Panthers have placed DT Derrick Brown on season-ending IR for the meniscus injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Saints. That leaves a gaping hole up front on a defense that was already bad.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey missed Monday Night's game with what was known as an ankle injury at the time. HC Kyle Shannahan revealed that McCaffrey is suffering from Achilles tendinitis, which can linger as pain and burning around the Achilles muscle.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin was asked about the starting QB for week 2 and said the team was preparing for QB Justin Fields to be their QB. This comes after a 156-yard passing and 57-yard rushing performance for Fields in Week 1 against the Falcons. QB Russell Wilson has not been ruled out yet and will be evaluated through the week.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson is facing new allegations of sexual battery and assault from an incident that took place in 2010. The accusations are disturbing, to say the least. You can read them in this article from Pro Football Talk

ESPN's Adam Schefter said prior to Monday Night Football that there's a "strong possibility" 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) misses Week 2's game against the Vikings. According to Schefter, McCaffrey pulled himself out of Friday's practice with soreness in his calf area and was still experiencing tightness on Monday.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield Jr. will miss at least two games and could be out as much as a month, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Winfield suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday's win over the Commanders and left the stadium in a walking boot. Stroud adds that the Bucs are "cautiously optimistic" it'll be just two weeks.
