Steelers HC Mike Tomlin was asked about the starting QB for week 2 and said the team was preparing for QB Justin Fields to be their QB. This comes after a 156-yard passing and 57-yard rushing performance for Fields in Week 1 against the Falcons. QB Russell Wilson has not been ruled out yet and will be evaluated through the week.
James Palmer of Underdog: "Right now, Mike Tomlin says they are preparing Justin Fields to start vs the Broncos. They will continue to evaluate Russell Wilson's progress with his calf injury.'
Fields and the Steelers emerged victorious over the Falcons despite not scoring a TD in the entire game.
Wilson continues having calf tightness that has plagued him throughout training camp and the Steelers are reportedly going to be very cautious with him moving forward.
Fields did move the Steelers offense at times, specifically with his feet and deep passing to WR George Pickens.
For fantasy, Fields is the ideal QB to continue starting given his rushing upside and allowing Pickens and TE Pat Freiermuth to have solid games in Week 1.
Keep an eye for continued Shark Bites and updates as the Steelers decide which QB will start in Week 2.
