Jake Ferguson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. With just six days to clear protocol, he's a long shot to play vs. the Commanders this weekend. That'll leave TE duties to Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford. Schoonmaker racked up six catches on 10 targets in the Week 11 loss to Houston but ran just four more routes than Spann-Ford. We'd try to avoid the situation in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson left Monday night's game against the Texans in the first quarter and has entered the concussion protocol. It's the second diagnosed concussion of Ferguson's NFL career. The last came in December of 2022. We'll see how he fares with a shorter turnaround to next Sunday's game at Washington. You should start the week planning to not have Ferguson in Week 12.

The Cowboys are placing QB Dak Prescott on IR with his hamstring injury, EVP Stephen Jones said Friday. That knocks Prescott out for at least the next four games. But the Fort Worth Star-Telegram hears that "the expected timeline is expected to trend closer to six weeks or more." The earliest Prescott could return is Week 14. A 6-week absence would have him out until Week 16. Dallas' season could be over for all intents and purposes at that point. Prescott is very droppable in 1-QB leagues without an IR spot.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles. The team is still deciding whether Prescott will go on IR, which would cost him at least four games. QB Cooper Rush will make his first start this weekend since 2022. He owns a career 60.0% completion rate and 6.5 yards per attempt. While not the worst backup in the world, Rush is obviously a significant downgrade from Prescott for Dallas’ offense.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss at Atlanta, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

TE Jake Ferguson ranked second among Cowboys in targets (8) and receptions (6) in Sunday night's loss to the 49ers. He turned those catches into just 23 yards, though, averaging a mere 3.8 per reception. Blame a season-low 1.4-yard average depth of target as the primary culprit, according to Pro Football Reference. Ferguson averaged minus-1.3 yards before catch per reception for the game.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks will miss Sunday night's game vs. the Steelers and might be out beyond that due to a knee infection, ESPN's Todd Archer reports. Cooks had a procedure on the knee after the Week 4 win over the Giants and subsequently developed an infection.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (knee) is not listed on the final Week 3 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so it looks like he’ll be ready for a full slate of snaps against the Ravens on Sunday. Ferguson is a top-10 TE play in that potential shootout.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. We're tentatively projecting him to play vs. the Ravens this weekend, but we'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Saints. He missed practice all week and never seemed to have much of a chance to play in this one. We’ll see if Ferguson can make it back for Week 3. TEs Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford split work after Ferguson exited the opener. Neither is a viable Week 2 fantasy play.

After suffering a bone bruise and MCL sprain, Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson is officially doubtful for Week 2. It was unlikely that he would play so soon after the injury, but there was some optimism around his potential to play through the injury. After not practicing all week, it is very very unlikely that Ferguson suits up.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Ferguson dodged a significant injury. He said that his pain was at a 10 on Sunday but a 0 on Wednesday. “Thankfully just a little bone bruise," he said. "I don’t even think it’s a Grade 1." It's all good news, but fantasy managers can't be counting on Ferguson playing in Week 2 vs. the Saints. We'll continue to track his status.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he's "optimistic" about TE Jake Ferguson's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. Ferguson was diagnosed with an MCL sprain, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said he'd "miss time." But it sounds like the injury might be less severe than initially thought. We'll keep an eye on Ferguson's status throughout this week.

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson suffered a left knee injury in the Cowboys Week 1 game against the Browns. It initially looked like it could be season-ending, but further testing revealed that Ferguson only sprained his MCL. This is approximately a 1-4 week recovery for Ferguson.
