The Cowboys announced Thursday that WR CeeDee Lamb will miss the final two games of the season with his shoulder injury.
What They're Saying
The Cowboys' statement: “Additional examinations and scans this week on CeeDee Lamb’s shoulder have determined that his injury has now progressed to a point that he will be listed as 'Out' for the remaining two games of the season. He will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for his shoulder, is not currently expected to require surgery and is projected to make a full recovery.”
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Lamb battled through this shoulder injury since Week 8 but will now shut it down with Dallas' season over.
He leaves behind 10.1 targets per game on a 26.5% share, so there's lots of opportunity for guys like WR Brandin Cooks and TE Jake Ferguson. But this Dallas offense figures to struggle without Lamb, especially this Sunday against a tough Eagles defense.
Consider Ferguson a volume-based, low-end TE1 option. We'd try to avoid the WR corps.
Dynasty Impact
Despite QB Dak Prescott playing just eight games and a generally disappointing season for Dallas' offense, Lamb sits fourth among WRs in total PPR points through Week 16; eighth in PPR points per game. It wasn't quite what you were hoping for from the top-3 overall pick in drafts this summer, but it was another impressive season considering the circumstances.
Lamb is still only 25, and Prescott is signed through 2028. That has Lamb's value stable as a top-5 dynasty WR.
