Browns QB Deshaun Watson is facing new allegations of sexual battery and assault from an incident that took place in 2010. The accusations are disturbing, to say the least. You can read them in this article from Pro Football Talk
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio: "It’s possible that Watson could be subject to further scrutiny under the Personal Conduct Policy. It’s also possible that a suspension — if one is imposed — could give the Browns a path toward voiding his remaining salary guarantees and ending the relationship."
We'll see how the league handles this situation. Watson already has plenty of on-field issues to deal with after an ugly opener. He completed just 24 of 45 passes (53%) for 169 yards (3.8 YPA), one TD, and two INTs. He ranked 16th among 30 qualifying QBs in Pro Football Focus' passing grades.
Watson looks like a shaky QB2 going forward. We'll see if he can bounce back in Week 2 at the Jaguars.
Between Watson's on-field play and new off-field issues, it's not a bad idea to stash backup QB Jameis Winston in deeper 2-QB and superflex leagues. He'd have a shot at top-15 production in HC Kevin Stefanski's offense if he takes over.
