Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb is considered "week to week" with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris. "The expectation is that he could play against Philadelphia on Sunday, but he would need to have a positive week of rehab and log at least one full practice by Saturday," Harris adds. We'll keep a close eye on Lamb's progress throughout the week. Of course, between the shoulder injury and QB Dak Prescott's absence, Lamb will have a lot working against him if he does suit up on Sunday.
The MRI on Bengals TE Erick All's right knee confirmed a torn ACL. He'll miss the rest of his 2024 rookie campaign. This is the same ACL that All tore just a little over a year ago, which figures to complicate his rehab. We'll see if he can make it back for the start of the 2025 season.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss at Atlanta, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Broncos HC Sean Payton said Monday that RB Audric Estime will get more work going forward. We got a similar report from CBS' Tracy Wolfson on Sunday morning. Estime finished the loss to the Ravens with five carries -- and those all came in the fourth quarter.
Bengals HC Zac Taylor told reporters Monday that RB Zack Moss will be out "indefinitely" with the neck injury that cost him Sunday's game, according to multiple reports. Taylor added that the team will consider "all the possible options" for replacing Moss in the backfield, according to Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Packers RB Josh Jacobs notched 95 yards on 13 carries in a Week 9 loss to Detroit. Jacobs’ 7.3 yards per carry mark tied his single-game career high.
Lions RB David Montgomery rushed 17 times for 73 yards in Sunday's win over Green Bay. He was held out of the end zone for only the second time all season.
The Saints are firing HC Dennis Allen in the wake of Sunday's loss to the Panthers. That marked the seventh straight defeat after New Orleans opened the season with a pair of blowout victories. Allen spent roughly 2.5 seasons at the helm after seven as Saints defensive coordinator. He finishes with an 18-25 record ... which is at least better than his 8-28 across 2+ years as Raiders HC (2012-14).
Eagles WR A.J. Brown avoided a serious knee injury in the Week 9 win over the Jaguars "and is expected to be fine," according to insider Jordan Schultz. Brown is scheduled for an MRI on Monday to get a better look at the injury. It's still possible that he misses time, but it at least sounds like he dodged a long-term absence. We'll keep you updated on Brown's status.
Eagles WR DeVonta Smith drew a just-OK 6 targets in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, but that led the team and marked a 25% share of Jalen Hurts' total pass attempts for the game. Smith has seen at least 23.5% target share in five of his seven games this season and sits at 25.4% for the year.
TE Grant Calcaterra led the Eagles with 5 receptions in Sunday's win over the Jaguars. He snagged all 5 targets and tallied 30 yards, all of which came in the first half -- with A.J. Brown still around.
The Eagles finished Sunday's win over the Jaguars with 46 rushes vs. just 24 pass attempts. But their approach didn't go nearly as run-heavy as those numbers made it seem. The first half found just 17 designed run plays vs. 23 dropbacks for Jalen Hurts. He scrambled four times in the second quarter, took 3 sacks, and went 13-for-16 passing before halftime.
WR Austin Trammell operated as the No. 3 WR in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He ran a route on 65.7% of Trevor Lawrence's 35 dropbacks, trailing Brian Thomas Jr. (97.1%) and Parker Washington (94.3%) at the position. Trammell drew 3 targets and tallied 2 receptions for 40 yards.
WR Parker Washington worked as Jacksonville's No. 2 wideout in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, nearly matching WR Brian Thomas Jr. in snaps (49-46) and pass routes (34-33). His 6 targets ranked second on the team, behind only TE Evan Engram.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne got the start Sunday in his return from a two-game hamstring absence. But he logged just 5 total touches and played fewer snaps than Tank Bigsby in the loss to the Eagles.
The Raiders fired OC Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg, and QBs coach Rich Scangarello, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Vegas ranks 29th in yards per game, 29th in yards per play, and 26th in points per game through Week 9. Getsy has never brought much to the table as a play caller, but personnel is a bigger issue for the Raiders.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram drew a team-high 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. That marked a 33.3% share of Trevor Lawrence's targeted throws. He caught five for 45 yards, each of which also led the team on a sluggish passing day for the Jags.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence ran for just 8 yards on five attempts in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. But he found the end zone with two of them and finished Sunday as the No. 9 fantasy QB by ESPN scoring. Lawrence added just 169 yards passing, completing 16 of 31 passes, with no TDs and 2 INTs.
Panthers WR Jalen Coker ranked second on the team with 36 receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Saints. But he caught just two passes among 3 targets while seeing decreased usage vs. Week 8.
Panthers WR Xavier Legette entered Sunday's game questionable but finished it tied for the team lead in pass routes. He was on the field for 93.3% of QB Bryce Young's dropbacks, matching WR David Moore for the team lead. Legette drew a team-high 6 targets. He tied for the team lead with 4 receptions, ranked third with 33 receiving yards, and snagged the team's only TD pass.
