Week 4 Fantasy Football Tight End Preview

Here's a rundown of the top-25 fantasy Tight Ends for Week 4.

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

Taysom Hill, Saints

Hill missed last week with a chest injury, but he will be the jack of all trades once again being used more as a runner than receiver. If he finds the end zone, starting Hill will be worth it, but that is more of a longshot week to week. Hill is a TE2 this week.

Kyle Pitts, Falcons

Pitts had a big 50-yard catch last week, and was one yard short of finding the end zone. He still only caught two passes though in what was a great match-up against the Chiefs. He faces another potential plus match-up with the Saints giving up 10 catches and 170 yards to Dallas Goedert. Pitts is a low end TE1 with upside.

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears

Colby Parkinson, Rams

Parkinson played 100% of the snaps last week and tied for the team-high in targets (5). Meanwhile, the Bears have allowed only 9 catches to TEs through three games.

Cole Kmet, Bears

We wouldn’t go chasing Kmet’s huge Week 3 (10-97-1). After all, Caleb Williams attempted a massive 52 passes. What’s clear, though, is that Kmet will run well ahead of veteran TE Gerald Everett.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

Johnny Mundt, Vikings

Mundt is playing full-time snaps ahead of Josh Oliver, but he’s off the fantasy radar. The former has seen exactly 3 targets in each of the first three games.

Tucker Kraft, Packers

Kraft briefly left Week 3 with a shoulder injury. Still, he topped Luke Musgrave in snaps, routes, and targets for another week. He’s a deep-league only play against a Brian Flores defense allowing 10 PPG.

Denver Broncos at New York Jets

Tyler Conklin, Jets

Conklin caught five of six targets for 93 yards last week and was the first read on some of those targets. He ran a route on almost all of the Jets passes and is gaining Rodgers' trust. He is a very high-end TE2 with upside this week and may earn more targets with the Broncos likely to shut down WRs.

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dallas Goedert, Eagles

Last week showed us the ceiling potential for Goedert in a pass offense that needs him. Expect him to be needed even more this week, with WR DeVonta Smith joining WR A.J. Brown as inactives. Of course, that doesn’t make Goedert a lock for strong receiving production. Last week marked just his sixth career game with 100+ yards. But Goedert’s as strong a bet as any TE in Week 4.

Cade Otton, Buccaneers

Otton caught seven balls in last week’s home loss to the Broncos, but he’s a weak bet to repeat. Otton ranked second among all TEs in pass routes last year. But he ranked just 21st in targets. One three-game stretch found him collecting 6, 6, and 9 targets. Outside of that, Otton had no other consecutive weeks with more than 4 targets.

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers

Mike Gesicki, Bengals

Gesicki caught four passes for 47 yards this past week. Rookie TE Erick All has been getting looks too, so Gesicki isn't guaranteed production. He is a high-end TE2 on a good offense, but the floor is low.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans

Brenton Strange, Jaguars

Strange is in line to get another start vs. the Texans this weekend. The 2023 second-rounder has tallied 3-65-0 and 2-12-1 receiving lines the past two weeks, totaling 11 targets for a 14.5% share. That makes him a Week 4 spot-start option for owners hurting at TE (and we know there are many of you).

Dalton Schultz, Texans

Schultz has drawn just 11 targets for a 9.8% share so far this season. But he should get a volume boost this weekend with WR Tank Dell not expected to play and WR Nico Collins dealing with a hamstring injury. With the Texans sporting a big 26-point implied total, Schultz looks like one of the best Week 4 spot starters at TE.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts

Pat Freiermuth, Steelers

Freiermuth hasn’t done anything exciting yet. But 4 receptions in every game have been enough to tie him for seventh at the position in receptions through three weeks. The Colts matchup won’t hurt this week. They’ve allowed TEs to catch 17 of 20 targets so far, including last week’s 10-97-1 receiving line for Bears TE Cole Kmet.

Washington Commanders at Arizona Cardinals

Zach Ertz, Commanders

Among TEs, Ertz ranks 12th in routes but top-six in catches and yards. He’s proven to be a reliable target for Jayden Daniels. While he’s yet to draw a red zone target, the veteran projects as a high-floor option against Arizona.

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers

Hunter Henry, Patriots

Henry's displayed some chemistry with QB Jacoby Brissett. Through three games, Henry ranks sixth at the position in yards per route run (1.81, 21 qualifers). The matchup is simply difficult against stud LB Fred Warner and the SF defense.

George Kittle, 49ers

Kittle returned to practice on Wednesday, putting him on track to return vs. New England. Kittle projects for 6+ targets in this one – especially if Deebo Samuel remains out. The 49ers are implied for a healthy 25.5 points.

Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders

Brock Bowers, Raiders

Bowers only had three catches for 41 yards last week in a good match-up against the Panthers, but he is still top five in TE scoring for the year so far.  The Raiders have manufactured touches for him and will look to use Bowers if the game against the Browns is close. He is a smash TE1 who has TE1 overall potential.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers

Travis Kelce, Chiefs

Kelce is averaging 4.0 targets, 2.7 catches, and 23 yards through the season's first three games. And, dating back to last year, he's now gone six straight regular-season games without topping 44 receiving yards. Kelce at least gets a matchup boost on Sunday with the Chargers missing S Derwin James.

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens

Dalton Kincaid, Bills

Kincaid finally has some life catching three passes last week for 41 yards and a TD. He appears to be a prime red zone target for Josh Allen and could have a solid week. The Ravens have given up two TE1 games this year, so Kincaid has TE1 upside.

Mark Andrews, Ravens

Andrews was held catchless with only one target last week and was on the sideline often as the Ravens opted for TE Charlie Kolar to be on the field. This won’t happen every week and the Bills are a great match-up. They gave up a ton of easy passes to Jonnu Smith two years ago and allowed a TE TD last week. Andrews is a cautious low end TE1 this week.

Isaiah Likely, Ravens

Likely has been used far less over the past two weeks than he was on opening night. He only had one catch for four yards last week and is back to being more of a part time player. The Bills are a great match-up however. They gave up a ton of easy passes to Jonnu Smith two weeks ago and allowed a TE TD last week. He has low end TE1 upside.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Noah Fant, Seahawks

Fant needed a 100% catch rate to put up his 6 receptions in last week’s win. He trails well behind the top three WRs across receiving categories and ranks just fifth on the team in receptions (behind RB Zach Charbonnet).

Sam LaPorta, Lions

LaPorta opened the practice week not participating on the ankle he sprained last Sunday. Get an insurance option ready for your Week 4 lineup in case he can’t go – especially because the Monday night timing means we might not know until that night whether LaPorta will play.
