Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bills WR Amari Cooper (wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. He was limited in practice all week, so we’re expecting him to play. But the wrist adds more risk to a guy who still hasn’t reached full playing time with his new team.

Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (concussion) put in a full practice on Friday and is off the final injury report. He’s been cleared to play vs. the Commanders this weekend, despite sustaining a concussion on Monday night. Tracy was dominating rushing work before that head injury, out-carrying RB Devin Singletary 20 to 2 for the game. The rookie is a solid RB2 in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Browns TE David Njoku (ankle, hand) is not listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He was sidelined on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. Njoku should be ready for a high-volume role vs. the Chargers this weekend.

Raiders RB Zamir White (quad) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He was a full-go in Friday’s practice, so he figures to play. White, who’s totaled just five carries and one target over the last two weeks, is well off the fantasy radar.

Chargers TE Hayden Hurst (groin) is off the final injury report and will play vs. the Browns this weekend. Hurst isn’t a fantasy option, but his return clouds the playing time and target projections on TE Will Dissly. Try to not use Dissly in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) practiced all week and is off the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns after missing the last two contests. Johnston drew a 19.4% target share over the first four games of the season, which is more exciting with the Chargers throwing more lately. Still, Johnston would be a desperation Week 9 fantasy play.

Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. He didn’t practice all week and has no timetable for return from his latest hamstring injury. New Orleans will also be without RB Jamaal Williams, who's listed as doubtful with a groin injury. The Saints figure to elevate Jordan Mims from the practice squad to serve as the No. 2 RB, but Taysom Hill might be the favorite to finish second on the team in carries.

Saints QB Derek Carr (oblique) was limited in practice all week but is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. Despite that plus matchup, Carr is really only in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues. But his return is excellent news for RB Alvin Kamara and especially WR Chris Olave.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (quad) is doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He remained sidelined in practice all week, so we wouldn't be counting on him returning for next Thursday night's game vs. the Ravens. TE Mike Gesicki has been the biggest beneficiary of Higgins' absence this season, averaging 7.0 targets across three games sans Higgins.

Bengals RB Zack Moss (neck) is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders. He was added to the injury report on Friday and did not practice. We'll look for more details on this injury and a timetable for Moss' return. But his absence on Sunday should mean a big role for RB Chase Brown in a great spot against Las Vegas' 29th-ranked RB defense. Trayveon Williams will be Cincinnati's No. 2 RB.

The Rams are listing WR Puka Nacua (knee) as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. Nacua was added to Thursday's injury report after injuring the same knee that cost him time earlier this season. We'll see what he does on Friday. But HC Sean McVay said before Friday's practice that he "wouldn't bet against [Puka Nacua] playing." We're sure to get more updates on Nacua's status between now and kickoff at 4:25 pm ET on Sunday.

Update: Nacua won't practice on Friday, McVay said. He added that Nacua "banged his knee" in practice on Thursday but suffered no structural damage.

Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) is not listed on the final injury report and will play vs. the Chargers on Sunday. Cleveland will have Ford and RB Nick Chubb available for the first time this season. Ford figures to lead this backfield in passing-down snaps going forward. We’ll see how much rushing work he takes from Chubb.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or just took Friday off in preparation for a Week 10 return. WR Xavier Legette, meanwhile, is questionable for Sunday's game with a toe injury. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. That leaves Jalen Coker, David Moore, and Jonathan Mingo as Carolina's top three healthy WRs.

Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Saints, but HC Dave Canales said Friday that Brooks is unlikely to play. The rookie was a full-go in practice this week, but it looks like the team wants to give him one more week to ramp up. We'd expect Brooks to make his NFL debut against the Giants next week -- although it's worth noting that Carolina has a bye the following week. Brooks' absence this Sunday keeps Hubbard safely inside RB2 territory in the Week 9 Rankings.

Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (concussion) is meeting with the independent neurologist on Friday afternoon and is expected to be cleared for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. That's a fast trip through the protocol for Tracy after his Monday night concussion. But, if he's cleared, he should be New York's lead back on Sunday. Tracy played 60% of the offensive snaps last week, handling 20 of 22 RB carries.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud mustered just 191 scoreless yards on 11-of-30 passing in Thursday night's loss to the Jets. It was his third game among the last four with fewer than 200 passing yards. The 37% completion rate was a career low. Stroud was vibing with WR Tank Dell, connecting on six of nine attempts for 126 yards. But all other Texans caught just five of 21 targets for 65 yards. That's 3.1 yards per pass attempt.

Jets WR Davante Adams sealed the win on Thursday night with a 37-yard TD on a slot fade late in the fourth quarter. Adams beat CB Jalen Pitre with a quick release at the line of scrimmage and created a few steps of separation to make it an easy throw for QB Aaron Rodgers. It was Adams' first TD as a Jet and part of a strong 7-91-1 outing. Adams and Rodgers struggled getting on the same page in the first half, connecting on just four of eight targets for 25 yards. But they were on point over the final 30 minutes, including a key 17-yarder on fourth-and-one in the third quarter. Adams' head hit the turf at the end of that catch. He went into the locker room to be checked for a concussion but was cleared to return, setting up the fourth-quarter TD.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers headed into halftime of Thursday night's game vs. the Texans with 32 scoreless yards on 7-of-14 passing. The offense looked disjointed, and Rodgers missed deep throws to WRs Davante Adams and Mike Williams. But Rodgers saved his fantasy outing -- and the Jets' season -- with his best 30 minutes of football after the break. Rodgers completed 15 of 18 passes for 179 yards and three TDs in the second half of the 21-13 win. The first two scores went to WR Garrett Wilson on one-handed catches, with the second being one of the best grabs you'll ever see. Rodgers then hooked up with BFF Davante Adams deep down the right sideline for a 37-yard TD to seal the win.

Rams WR Puka Nacua's knee injury is "not believed to be serious," a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. Nacua's availability for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks is uncertain, though, Schefter adds. The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue reports that this latest injury is to the same knee that sidelined Nacua for most of August and Weeks 2 through 7. We'll keep you updated on his status for Week 9 and beyond.

Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday. That doesn't bode well for his chances of returning for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. JuJu should be on fantasy benches for now. We'll let you know if he gets on the practice field one of these next two days.
