Jalen Coker Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Panthers WR Jalen Coker (quad) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Buccaneers. That leaves Xavier Legette, Adam Thielen, and David Moore as Carolina’s clear top three receivers against the league’s 27th-ranked WR defense.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. Thielen could immediately re-emerge as QB Bryce Young’s top target, but we’d try to avoid him in fantasy lineups in his first action since Week 3. WR Jalen Coker (quad) is inactive.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. HC Dave Canales said Friday, though, that Thielen will play. He’d be a desperation fantasy start against Kansas City’s 10th-ranked WR defense. WR Jalen Coker (quad) was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. He’s listed as questionable and should not be in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) missed practice all week and is out for Sunday morning's game vs. the Giants in Germany. Carolina will again trot out Xavier Legette, David Moore, and Jalen Coker as its top three WRs in that one.

Panthers WR Jalen Coker ranked second on the team with 36 receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Saints. But he caught just two passes among 3 targets while seeing decreased usage vs. Week 8.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or just took Friday off in preparation for a Week 10 return. WR Xavier Legette, meanwhile, is questionable for Sunday's game with a toe injury. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. That leaves Jalen Coker, David Moore, and Jonathan Mingo as Carolina's top three healthy WRs.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday that he expects WR Diontae Johnson to get traded ahead of next Tuesday's deadline. It makes plenty of sense for the 1-7 Panthers to get something in return for Johnson, who is set to hit free agency this offseason. A new home would certainly mean an upgrade in QB play and general offensive environment for Johnson. But he'd also have a new offense to learn and very likely face tougher target competition. Consider Johnson a hold while we wait on a potential trade. His departure would free up targets for WRs Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker. But none is an exciting fantasy option considering the state of that offense.

Panthers WRs Diontae Johnson (rib) and Adam Thielen (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Johnson has been battling multiple injuries throughout the season. It's not the worst thing in the world that he's missing this game against stud CB Patrick Surtain with QB Bryce Young under center. We'll see if Johnson makes it back for Week 9. Thielen just returned to practice this week after coming off IR and isn't ready for game action yet. The Panthers will trot out Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Jonathan Mingo, and David Moore as their top four WRs this weekend. They'll struggle to score points.
