Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders DT Jonathan Allen tore his left pectoral muscle in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. ESPN's John Keim reports that a Monday MRI confirmed the fears and that Allen will have season-ending surgery.

Buccaneers RB Sean Tucker had 53 total yards for his young NFL career before Sunday's game. But then he racked up a 14-136-1 rushing line and 3-56-1 receiving in the offensive explosion against the Saints. What's that mean for when RB Rachaad White returns from injury? HC Todd Bowles says the second-year back has earned a spot in the rotation.

Cardinals LB Kyzir White left in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Packers with a knee injury and did not return. We'll watch for details on his outlook ahead of Arizona's Week 7 home date with the Chargers. Krys Barnes stepped in to play 74% of the defensive snaps against Green Bay, tying for fourth on the team. Mack Wilson led the LBs -- and ranked third among all defenders -- with 92% snap share.

Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks is considered “week to week” with the shoulder injury that knocked him out of the Week 6 win over the Cardinals, according to insider Jordan Schultz. "After initial concern inside the Packers’ building of a more substantial injury, there is relief that Wicks avoided anything more serious," Schultz adds.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski on Monday called RB Jerome Ford "week-to-week" with his hamstring injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That likely means we should expect Ford to miss at least the Week 7 game against the Bengals. Cleveland reportedly expects to get Nick Chubb back for that one. Ford's absence would figure to leave Pierre Strong as the primary complement to Chubb in that scenario. We'll keep watching for updates on the Cleveland backfield throughout the week.

Titans HC Brian Callahan told reporters Monday that RB Tyjae Spears is "week-to-week," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Expect Spears to miss at least the Week 7 game at Buffalo. We'll see beyond that. Tony Pollard, who has already carried 17+ times in four of give games, will face even less of a challenge for work while Spears is out. Julius Chestnut is the only other RB on the active roster.

Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy took over the backfield in the second game without starter Devin Singletary. Tracy split Week 5 work with Eric Gray early before Gray lost a fumble at the goal line. in Sunday night's loss to the Bengals, however, he played 66 snaps to just 14 for Gray. Tracy claimed 17 of the team's 20 RB carries and all of the RB targets. His 6 targets ranked third on the team and produced a 6-57 receiving line.

Giants WR Darius Slayton was fine in Week 6, tallying 6 receptions for 57 yards in the Sunday night loss to the Bengals. His 11 targets tied WR Wan'Dale Robinson for the team lead, beating his next-nearest teammate by five.

Giants QB Daniel Jones put up a stinker in Sunday night's loss to the Bengals, despite facing the defense that entered the week as the fourth-friendliest scoring matchup for QBs. Jones threw for just 205 yards on 22-of-41 passing, with 0 TDs and 1 (bad) INT. He did at least add a team-leading 56 rushing yards.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow saved his Week 6 fantasy line with a 47-yard TD run in the first quarter of Sunday night's win over the Giants. But that accompanied a mere 208 yards and no TDs on 19-of-28 passing (67.9%). Those numbers come out to solid rates for Burrow, but the yardage was his lowest since the Week 1 loss to New England. And the Giants defense deserves credit.

Bengals RB Chase Brown led teammate Zack Moss in basically every category in Sunday night's win over the Giants. He played more snaps (33-24), got more carries (10-6), ran more routes (20-14), drew more targets (3-1), and beat Moss in yards per touch (5.3 to 2.1). The RBs also appeared to get different treatment after their second-half fumbles.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne is "week to week" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Bears, HC Doug Pederson said. Etienne will likely miss at least this weekend's game vs. the Patriots and could miss another game or two. Jacksonville's bye isn't until Week 12.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb posted merely fine numbers in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Lions: 7 receptions, 89 yards. But he also saw his largest target share of the season. Lamb's 14 targets constituted 42.4% of QB Dak Prescott's pass attempts for the game. That followed a four-game stretch of down usage vs. his 2023 numbers.

Cowboys WR/RB/return specialist KaVontae Turpin finished a surprising second on the team in targets for Sunday's lopsided loss to the Lions. That was a little deceptive, though, as Turpin drew 4 of his 7 targets after QB Cooper Rush stepped in for Dak Prescott.

WR Kalif Raymond emerged as the surprise target leader in the Lions' beatdown of Dallas in Week 6. His 6 targets edged RB Jahmyr Gibbs by one and put Raymond two ahead of any other teammate. He caught four of them for 73 yards, doubling his reception total for the season.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott led Rico Dowdle in playing time (28 snaps to 29), pass routes (14-11), and carries (8-5) in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He turned that into just 17 rushing yards and 0 targets. Dowdle rushed for 25 yards (5.0 per carry) and caught five balls for 30 yards. He tied for third on the team in targets (6) and ranked second in receptions.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta caught a 52-yard TD pass from QB Jared Goff on a trick play in Sunday's win over the Cowboys. But that marked his only reception -- and target -- of the game.

Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins posted 98 yards, 1 TD, and a season-high 25 carries in Sunday's win over Denver. Previously, he hadn't topped 17 rush attempts this season. Note that Gus Edwards missed this one with an ankle injury.

David Montgomery led the Lions backfield in fantasy scoring for Sunday's win at Dallas. His two TD runs masked a lackluster workload, though. Montgomery carried just 12 times in a lopsided Detroit victory. That matched the carry total for Jahmyr Gibbs, who beat Montgomery pretty easily in playing time.

Lions QB Jared Goff threw for 315 yards and 3 TDs on just 25 pass attempts in Sunday's win over the Cowboys. That's 12.6 yards per attempt and a 12% TD rate. He's obviously not going to sustain either of those rates -- and perhaps won't even repeat them for a single game. But it followed the game in which Goff set an NFL record by competing all 18 of his attempts.
