David Montgomery led the Lions backfield in fantasy scoring for Sunday's win at Dallas. His two TD runs masked a lackluster workload, though. Montgomery carried just 12 times in a lopsided Detroit victory. That matched the carry total for Jahmyr Gibbs, who beat Montgomery pretty easily in playing time.
Gibbs nearly doubled Montgomery in snaps Sunday, playing 37 to Montgomery's 21. Nearly all of that came in passing situations.
Gibbs drew 5 targets at Dallas to rank second on the team. He caught three for 28 yards.
Entering this week, Gibbs led Montgomery by 29 snaps, playing 54% of Detroit's offensive total to Montgomery's 43.3%. Gibbs also now ranks third on the team in targets for the season.
That all bodes well for his weekly floor and ceiling.
Montgomery, meanwhile, might be worth looking to sell before his TD luck runs out. Look for more about the Lions RB this week.
