Cowboys WR/RB/return specialist KaVontae Turpin finished a surprising second on the team in targets for Sunday's lopsided loss to the Lions. That was a little deceptive, though, as Turpin drew 4 of his 7 targets after QB Cooper Rush stepped in for Dak Prescott.
For the game, Turpin's 20 routes ranked fourth among Cowboys WRs, according to Pro Football Focus. He trailed:
At least some of that gap between Tolbert and Lamb can also be traced to Rush's time at the end of the game.
Ultimately, this looks like a throwaway game for judging just about anything in the Dallas offense -- other than noting how poorly the team is capable of playing.
We'll see whether the 3-3 Cowboys are motivated to make any significant changes over their Week 7 bye.
