Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson had a monster game putting up 41 points on the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. Jackson completed 17-of-22 passes for 281 yards and 5 TDs. he also ran for 52 yards on the ground.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman caught all four of his targets for 121 yards including a 59-yard TD catch. When WR Zay Flowers went down early with an injury, Bateman became the primary WR targets for QB Lamar Jackson

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin suffered a significant left leg injury late in Monday night's loss to the Ravens. He left the field on a cart with an air cast on the bottom half of his leg, and ESPN declined to show replay of the injury (because of the severity). This sure seems likely to end Godwin's season.

Update: HC Todd Bowles said after the game that early indication is a dislocated ankle and that it "doesn't look good," NFL Network reports.

The league has suspended Lions WR Jameson Williams two games for violating the performance-enhancing substances policy, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard.

Bucs WR Mike Evans re-injured his right hamstring in the second quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens and will not return. Evans caught a 25-yard TD on Tampa's first possession but aggravated the hamstring injury that limited him in practice this week on another deep shot in the second quarter. We'll look for updates on Evans and track his status this week, leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Falcons.

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (hip) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Cardinals. WR Simi Fehoko (shoulder, groin) is also active. WRs Derius Davis (hamstring) and WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) are inactive. WR D.J. Chark (groin) was not activated and won’t play tonight. McConkey, Josh Palmer, and Fehoko figure to serve as Los Angeles’ top three WRs in this one.

49ers TE George Kittle is "day to day" with a sprained foot, HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday. It sounds like Kittle has a decent chance to be available for Sunday night's game vs. the Cowboys, but we'll keep a close eye on him this week. TE Eric Saubert caught both of his targets for 41 yards as San Francisco's lead TE when Kittle missed Week 3.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel is currently in the hospital with pneumonia, HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday. Samuel tried playing in the Week 7 loss to the Chiefs but made it through just four snaps. Shanahan said he's "not sure if we'll get (Samuel) back this week or not," per The Athletic's Matt Barrows. We'll track Samuel's status throughout the week. With WR Brandon Aiyuk done for the season and WR Jauan Jennings battling a hip injury, rookie WRs Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing could have sizeable roles in Sunday night's game against the Cowboys.

Bucs RB Rachaad White (foot) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Ravens. We’ll get our first look at what this three-man backfield will look like after RB Sean Tucker’s big Week 6. The entire backfield has a brutal matchup against Baltimore’s fifth-ranked RB defense. See how we project the backfield tonight.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in the Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There may be other damage," Rapoport adds. Aiyuk will miss the rest of the 2024 season. And any "other damage" to his knee could impact his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign. We'll keep you updated on Aiyuk's diagnosis and timeline for return.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf is considered "week to week" with a Grade 1 MCL sprain suffered in the Week 7 win over the Falcons, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Seattle gets the Bills and Rams the next two weeks before a Week 10 bye, so it's possible we don't see Metcalf again until Week 11.

Commanders HC Dan Quinn on Monday called QB Jayden Daniels "week to week" with the rib injury that knocked him out of Sunday's win over the Panthers. He added that they're "hopeful" he can play in Week 8 against the Bears.

Niners RB Jordan Mason returned from his Week 6 shoulder injury to reclaim control of the backfield in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. He played 85.7% of offensive snaps, trailing only QB Brock Purdy and TE George Kittle among skill-position 49ers. Mason also handled 14 of 15 HB carries -- FB Kyle Juszczyk had one as well -- and garnered 2 of 3 targets for the position. Mason ran 27 routes (73% share) to just 3 for Isaac Guerendo. Purdy killed Mason's fantasy line, though, by vulturing a pair of 1-yard TD plunges.

Colts HC Shane Steichen said Monday that he expects RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) to return to practice this week and that he's "very optimistic" Taylor will play against the Texans on Sunday. Taylor has missed the last three games with what was originally called a minor high-ankle sprain. We'll track his progress this week. If Taylor suits up, he should step back into a workhorse role and will be a must-start in Week 8 fantasy lineups.

Niners rookie WR Ricky Pearsall made his NFL debut Sunday against the Chiefs and wound up leading the team in routes. Pearsall ran a route on 86.5% of QB Brock Purdy's dropbacks. That probably wasn't the plan going in, but San Francisco watched WR Deebo Samuel leave with an illness after just four plays and lost WR Brandon Aiyuk to a likely ACL tear in the second quarter.

Niners TE George Kittle led the team in targets (7), receptions (6), and receiving yards (92) in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. That marked his sixth straight game with at least 4 receptions and 40 yards. That's Kittle's longest such streak since 2018.

The Chiefs lost WR Rashee Rice to a knee injury early in their Week 3 win over the Chargers. Since then, No. 2 TE Noah Gray has seen his route and target shares increase.

Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt handled 73% of the team's RB rushes in Sunday's win over the 49ers. That gave him 22 attempts for 78 yards (3.5 per carry) and 2 TDs. Hunt also saw increased usage in the passing game. His 53% route share marked a season high and beat Samaje Perine (34.4%) for the second straight game.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that they are designating QB Tua Tagovailoa to return from IR this week and plan to have him practice Wednesday. Tagovailoa still must clear the concussion protocol before playing in games, but McDaniel said they hope to have him ready to play Sunday against the Cardinals.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Monday that WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will miss next Sunday's game against the Raiders with the injury to his right hamstring.
