Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Panthers K Eddy Pineiro (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. He checks in dead last in the Week 12 K Rankings.

Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Brooks won’t be on a snap count in his long-awaited NFL debut, but we’re still expecting him to play minimally behind RB Chuba Hubbard.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. Thielen could immediately re-emerge as QB Bryce Young’s top target, but we’d try to avoid him in fantasy lineups in his first action since Week 3. WR Jalen Coker (quad) is inactive.

Giants WR Malik Nabers (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. There have been no reports about his snaps being limited. The groin and QB Tommy DeVito add risk to his Week 12 fantasy profile. But Nabers would be tough to leave out of fantasy lineups against Tampa Bay’s 29th-ranked WR defense.

Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Giants. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said Saturday that Tampa Bay would monitor Evans’ snaps in his first action since Week 7, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Evans will play “without any restrictions.” There’s some uncertainty here, but Evans would be tough to leave out of fantasy lineups against a leaky Giants secondary.

Bears RB D'Andre Swift (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. He was a full-go in Friday’s practice, so the groin shouldn’t be a major factor. But Minnesota ranks second in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs, and Swift lost most passing-down and goal-line work to RB Roschon Johnson last week. It leaves him as a low-end RB2 play this week, even with six teams on bye.

Bears WR Keenan Allen (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. He was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Friday with what he called ankle stiffness. That adds some risk to a guy who was already an unexciting fantasy start.

ESPN's Adam Schefter writes that 49ers QB Brock Purdy (shoulder) "should" be able to play against the Bills next Sunday night. "Then again, they also thought he would be able to start today at Green Bay before he couldn’t," Schefter adds. "Still, for the time being, there does not seem to be a high level of concern." This seems like a situation where the team truly doesn't know how Purdy's injured right shoulder will progress. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout next week.

Giants WR Malik Nabers (groin) is expected to play vs. the Bucs today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Nabers did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. He's reportedly been dealing with this groin issue since college, though, and was confident on Friday that he'd be able to play in this one. We'll look for further updates on his status. But, at this point, Nabers would be tough to leave out of fantasy lineups against Tampa Bay's 29th-ranked WR defense.

The Bears are "confident" RB D'Andre Swift (groin) will be able to play vs. the Vikings today, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says. Swift progressed from no practice on Wednesday to limited practice on Thursday to full participation on Friday, so we're not expecting the groin to be a major issue today. But the matchup against Minnesota's second-ranked RB defense -- plus the threat of Roschon Johnson -- leaves Swift as a fringe RB2 play today.

The Bears are "confident" WR Keenan Allen (ankle) will be able to play vs. the Vikings today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Allen is listed as questionable after dealing with what he called ankle stiffness on Friday. That adds some risk to a guy who was already an unexciting fantasy play.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bucs WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Giants today. "He's good to go without any restrictions," Rapoport adds. There have been mixed messages on Evans' expected role throughout the week, with Bucs coaches and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggesting that his snaps could be limited in his first action since Week 7. Ultimately, Evans' target potential and matchup are too strong to bench for the majority of fantasy teams.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says "it'll be close" whether TE Noah Fant (groin) will be able to play against the Cardinals today. He was a full-go in Friday's practice but is listed as questionable. Seattle elevated TE Tyler Mabry from the practice squad on Saturday, suggesting concern about Fant's ability. We won't get Seattle's inactives until a little before 3 pm ET today, making this a situation to avoid in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks (knee) will make his NFL debut against the Chiefs today and adds that "he won't be on a pitch count." Carolina has slow-played Brooks' return from his November 2023 ACL tear, so he should be close to 100% at this point. But we're still expecting Chuba Hubbard to operate as Carolina's clear lead back today. Coupled with the matchup against Kansas City's top-ranked RB defense, Brooks would be a very shaky Week 12 fantasy play.

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He only got in limited practices on Friday and Saturday. McConkey played through this issue last week, and we've heard nothing to suggest that he's in danger of missing the Monday nighter. But the late kickoff obviously puts fantasy managers in a tough spot. WRs Josh Palmer and Rashod Bateman are serviceable backup options from this game if you're planning to start McConkey and he ends up inactive.

Ravens RB Justice Hill (concussion) is not listed on the final injury report. He's cleared protocol and will be ready for his usual change-of-pace role behind RB Derrick Henry in Monday night's game vs. the Chargers.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (knee) is not listed on the final Week 12 injury report. He returned to a full practice on Saturday after sitting out on Friday. Bateman should be ready for his usual role vs. the Chargers on Monday night.

The Panthers placed RB Miles Sanders (ankle) on IR. He'll miss at least the next four games and can be dropped from all fantasy rosters. Sanders' absence locks in Jonathon Brooks as Carolina's No. 2 RB. He might not be playable in fantasy lineups behind RB Chuba Hubbard. But he's now a Hubbard injury away from a big role.

Commanders K Austin Seibert (hip) has been removed from the injury report and will play vs. the Cowboys on Sunday. Seibert still leads all kickers in fantasy points per game in most scoring systems. He's a strong Week 12 start with Washington rocking a 27.75-point implied total.

The Giants on Saturday activated Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux from IR. He missed the past five games following surgery for a wrist fracture. Thibodeaux was deemed questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, but his activation indicates he's ready to play.
