San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot, hamstring) did not practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. It sounds like it’s the hamstring that’s sidelining him. Guerendo’s absence leaves San Francisco down to RBs Patrick Taylor, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, and Israel Abanikanda. Taylor is the favorite for work, but it’s unclear exactly what this backfield will look like. It’s also a tough matchup against a Dolphins defense that’s limited opposing RBs to 2.8 yards per carry over the last five weeks. See where Taylor sits in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo is "unlikely to play" Sunday at Miami because of his hamstring injury.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot, hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through the foot issue last Thursday night, but the hamstring is new. We'll see if he's able to practice tomorrow. Patrick Taylor would be San Francisco's lead back vs. the Dolphins on Sunday if Guerendo can't go.

The 49ers clearly made it a point to get WR Deebo Samuel going in Thursday night's loss to the Rams. It didn't work. Samuel turned seven targets into three catches and 16 yards. His two carries went for just three yards. Samuel was bottled up after the catch and had a brutal drop on a crossing route in the third quarter that could have gone for a 29-yard TD. He also had a false-start penalty.

Niners Edge Nick Bosa and LB Dre Greenlaw are active for tonight's game against the Rams. Bosa returns after missing the past three games with an oblique injury. He managed just a single limited practice, though, in a walkthrough. Bosa remains a risky play for IDP lineups. Greenlaw's making his 2024 debut. He has been out since suffering an Achilles' tear in the Super Bowl. That makes it tough to know what kind of playing time we can expect from the LB. He's best left on fantasy benches this week. The San Francisco defense can only benefit from getting the stars back, though.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot) is active for tonight's game vs. the Rams. He was listed as questionable after only getting in a limited practice on Tuesday. But Guerendo downplayed the injury throughout the week and was reportedly expected to play tonight even before getting through warmups. There have been no reports so far about the rookie's expected workload in this one. He shapes up as a risk/reward fantasy play. Check the new-and-improved Who To Start Tool to see if Guerendo makes sense for your starting lineup. RBs Patrick Taylor and Ke'Shawn Vaughn are also active for San Francisco tonight; RB Israel Abanikanda is a healthy scratch.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo plans to play tonight despite his sprained foot. There was doubt over him playing after being injured and sitting out part of the game last week. If Guerendo does not have a full workload due to the injury, RB Patrick Taylor will get a bigger share of touches.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Rams after putting in a full practice Wednesday. It was merely a walkthrough, but also the first time Greenlaw has been listed as a full participant since returning to practice ahead of the Week 13 game. Edge Nick Bosa is also questionable after returning to a limited practice Wednesday. San Francisco also ruled out rookie S Malik Mustapha.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. He got in a limited practice on Wednesday, so he seemingly has a chance to suit up tomorrow. We'll look for further updates on his status and get San Francisco's inactives a little before 7 pm ET tomorrow. If Guerendo plays, he'd be the best fantasy bet in the backfield -- albeit with elevated risk playing through the foot sprain.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot) did not practice on Tuesday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Guerendo likely wouldn't do anything until Wednesday. We'll see what he does in practice today and how he's listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. We're tentatively projecting Guerendo to sit and Patrick Taylor to operate as San Francisco's lead back.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo is "day-to-day" with a foot sprain suffered in the Week 14 win over the Bears, HC Kyle Shahanan said Monday. Guerendo dodged a significant injury, although he remains uncertain for Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. Shanahan said Guerendo won't do much in practice on Monday or Tuesday. We'll see how he's listed on Wednesday's final injury report. For now, we would not plan on having Guerendo available in Week 15. His absence would leave Patrick Taylor as San Francisco's lead back -- and a viable Week 15 fantasy start.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's win over the Bears that RB Isaac Guerendo is believed to have a foot sprain. X-rays were not conclusive, and Guerendo is scheduled for more testing on Monday. We should get another update on his status within the next 24 hours, but this injury could certainly cost him time. Guerendo's absence would leave Patrick Taylor as San Francisco's latest lead back.

49ers TE George Kittle had a huge game after a one catch performance last week. He caught all six of his targets for 151 yards. Though Kittle did not find the end zone, it was a sigh of relief for fantasy managers heading into the fantasy playoffs.

49ers WR Jauan Jennings caught seven of his eight targets for 90 yards and two TDs. Teammate Deebo Samuel had a rougher go of it catching only two of his three targets for 22 yards. Samuel also ran the ball five times for only 13 yards.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo got his first start and did not disappoint. The rookie ran 15 times for 78 yards while also catching both of his targets for 50 yards. He scored twice on the ground. Guerendo injured his foot late in the game. If that doesn’t cause him to miss time, he has earned the starting role.

49ers QB Brock Purdy resurrected his season by completing 20-of-25 for 325 yards and two TDs against one of the best pass defenses in the league. He mostly focused on WR Jauan Jennings and TE George Kittle who combined for 241 yards, catching 13 of 14 targets.

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo suffered a foot injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bears. He's officially questionable to return. Guerendo was controlling work in the backfield before exiting, carrying 15 times for 78 yards and two scores and catching both of his targets for 50 yards. His absence leaves San Francisco with RBs Patrick Taylor and Israel Abanikanda.

The 49ers expect to get LB Dre Greenlaw back for the Week 15 game against the Rams. He has put in limited practices each day of the past two weeks but was still ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Bears. Greenlaw, of course, has yet to play this season because he's recovering from the Achilles' rupture he suffered in the Super Bowl.

The 49ers have activated S Talanoa Hufanga from IR. He put in limited practices all week and is officially questionable. But Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday called him "set to return" for Sunday's game against the Bears.

The 49ers expect Edge Nick Bosa to miss his third straight game this week. Bosa's officially doubtful after missing all three practice days with the hip and oblique injuries that cost him the past two games. He has participated in just one practice since Week 10.
