The 49ers expect Edge Nick Bosa to miss his third straight game this week. Bosa's officially doubtful after missing all three practice days with the hip and oblique injuries that cost him the past two games. He has participated in just one practice since Week 10.

Perhaps the "doubtful" tag at least indicates Bosa has a shot to play the Rams on Thursday night in Week 15. I'll be tracking his status.

San Francisco remains an upside play against the volatile Bears. But it's obviously not as good a defense -- either in real life or on the stat sheet -- without Bosa.
