CeeDee Lamb Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb has signed a four-year, $136 million deal, securing him as the second-highest-paid non-QB in NFL history. He earned the largest WR signing bonus ever at $38 million. This ends the ongoing stalemate between the Cowboys and Lamb while Lamb was holding out of training camp and the preseason.

There's "optimism" that WR CeeDee Lamb and the Cowboys agree to a new contract soon, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Lamb has yet to participate in training camp or preseason as he angles for a new deal. Dallas' regular-season opener is two weeks from today.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb's holdout should be done soon. "I've heard from two different league sources that Lamb's deal in Dallas is getting done soon, in plenty of time for him to be on the field and fully up to speed when the Cowboys take their first snap of the regular season in Cleveland."

Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert has been working as the Cowboys No. 2 WR behind WR Brandin Cooks with WR CeeDee Lamb not participating. Tolbert is heading into his third season and is building a rapport with QB Dak Prescott.

Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports that WR CeeDee Lamb plans to hold out when Cowboys training camp opens Wednesday. Lamb and the team have been working on a contract extension but have yet to work anything out.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb skipped offseason workouts ahead of what’s currently a contract year. Just note: That could change at any moment. Considering potential new deals for Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons, The Athletic’s Saad Yousuf believes Lamb is the Cowboy “most likely” to get paid before training camp. Yousuf writes that the contract “framework” is already in place following Justin Jefferson’s extension.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb is skipping voluntary workouts and might hold out of mandatory work in June, according to The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken. Lamb is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is rightfully looking for a big raise. He's coming off a massive 2023 season, posting a 135-1,749-12 line and leading all WRs in fantasy points. Lamb will undoubtedly get a new deal from the Cowboys, but we'll see how long it takes owner Jerry Jones to open up his wallet. For now, consider Lamb's short- and long-term fantasy value unaffected. He sits atop our redraft and dynasty WR rankings.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb became the fifth WR this season to record at least 200 receiving yards in a game in Week 17 vs. the Lions. The talented wideout ended Saturday’s contest with 13 catches, 227 yards, and a TD that amounted to 40.2 PPR points. Lamb trails only Tyreek Hill with four games of 30+ PPR points in 2023, second among WRs. This achievement just goes to highlight just how utterly dominant he’s been this year. Entering his age-25 season in 2024, Lamb is showing no signs of slowing down and should be thought of as one of the elite dynasty WRs.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott rebounded from a relative down week in the win at Carolina to hang 331 yards and 4 TD passes on the Commanders in Week 12. He did so while spreading the ball around more than usual. WR CeeDee Lamb led the way with 9 targets but posted just a 4-53-1 receiving line. WR Brandin Cooks snagged a 31-yard TD among his 4 receptions for 72 yards on 5 targets. The other two scores went to KaVontae Turpin from 34 yards out and RB Rico Dowdle on a 15-yard catch-and-run. The soft opponent certainly helped, but Prescott has now gone over 300 yards with 3+ TDs in four of his past five games. And his remaining schedule ranks third-best for QB scoring, with no truly worrisome spots. Prescott just might prove to be a league winner for 2023.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks exploded in Week 10, hauling in 9 of 10 targets for 173 receiving yards and a TD vs. the Giants. Sunday saw several Cowboys pass-catchers post great numbers, including WR CeeDee Lamb (11-151-1) and TE Jake Ferguson (4-26-1), but Cooks is the one that fantasy managers should be wary of chasing in the future. The 10 targets he saw on Sunday were his highest by far this season and mark only the second time in 2023 that Cooks has seen more than 4 in a single game. He and teammate Michael Gallup have essentially taken turns as the Cowboys' WR2 in terms of snap rate and route participation this year. It’s best to avoid chasing this performance if you’re looking for help on the waiver wire this week.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb racked up 191 yards on 11 receptions among 16 targets in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He drew 36.4% of Prescott's total pass attempts in the game, tallied 37.9% of the team's receptions, and collected 51.1% of the receiving yards. That followed a 12-158-2 receiving line coming out of the Week 7 bye and gives Lamb three straight games with at least 117 receiving yards. If you were worried about Lamb at all after three straight outings of limited production weeks 3-5, he has clearly put that to rest.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb went off for 12 grabs, 158 yards, and 2 scores in Sunday’s win over the Rams. The first two figures set career highs. Lamb actually entered halftime with nearly 35 PPR points, as he overmatched a young LA secondary. Look for Lamb to continue rolling next Sunday at Philly.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb secured all 7 of his targets for 117 receiving yards in Week 6’s victory vs. the Chargers. After a pair of sub-50-yard performances, the talented wideout finished as the WR10 on the week in PPR with 18.7 points. His teammate Brandin Cooks also made good on his opportunities, catching 4 passes on as many targets with 36 yards and a TD in the contest. Not all was good for these Cowboys’ wideouts, however. Michael Gallup saw a team-leading 10 targets but only converted 3 receptions for 24 yards on Monday night. This is a player who’d led the team in receiving yards (167) and receptions (13) over the past three games entering Week 6, so Gallup’s flop was assuredly disappointing for fantasy managers who opted to stream him this week. Following their Week 7 bye, the Cowboys will take on the Rams.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb posted a team-leading 49 receiving yards on 4 catches in Week 5’s loss vs. the 49ers. TE Jake Ferguson posted a respectable 3-catch, 28-yard performance that’s passable in PPR scoring, but these Dallas pass-catchers were otherwise underwhelming on Sunday night. The errors forced by QB Dak Prescott (3 INTs) had a tangible impact on the outcome of this contest. Hopefully, this offense will collectively bounce back in Week 6 vs. the Chargers.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (rest, knee) returned to a full practice on Thursday. It's confirmation that he's good to go for Sunday night's showdown with the 49ers.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb did not practice on Wednesday. The team lists his official designation as "Not Injury Related - Rest" and "knee." We'll see whether this was more of a rest day or if the knee is really a concern heading into Sunday night's game vs. the 49ers. Check back tomorrow for an update on Lamb.
