Dallas Goedert Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Per insider Mike Garafolo, Eagles TE Dallas Goedert will miss “extended time” with the shoulder injury he suffered on Monday night. Garafolo adds that Goedert’s season is not over. TE Jack Stoll will slide into the lead role, although he’ll be tough to trust in fantasy lineups this week at Indianapolis.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert led the team with 9 targets, 8 catches and 100 yards in Week 9. He added his 2nd TD of the season, capitalizing on a plus matchup in Houston. Goedert’s size showed up in this one, as he routinely ripped apart the Texans’ Cover 2 defense for chunk gains. The 27-year-old has now snagged 5+ passes in 4 of his past 5 matchups. He’ll remain a no-doubt top-5 option next week against the Commanders.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown racked up 156 yards and 3 TDs on 6 catches in Sunday's 35-13 beatdown of the Steelers. His 11 targets led the team but put Brown just 3 ahead of WR DeVonta Smith, who caught 5 passes for 23 yards. TE Dallas Goedert added 6-64 receiving on 6 looks. No other Eagle topped 2 targets. Philly heads to Houston for another positive matchup Thursday night.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts attempted just 25 passes in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys, completing 15 (60%) for 155 yards and a pair of TDs. He found A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith for the scores. Each wideout caught 5 balls for the game, with Brown tallying 67 yards and Smith 44. TE Dallas Goedert was the only other Eagle to see multiple targets, catching just 2 of his 5 for 22 yards.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown led the team with 95 yards on 5 catches in Sunday's win over the Jaguars. He accounted for 46.6% of QB Jalen Hurts' passing yardage in the contest, while drawing 28% of Hurts' passion attempts. WR DeVonta Smith followed a monster Week 3 by going quiet: 3 catches, 17 yards on 4 targets. TE Dallas Goedert finished 2nd on the team with 6 targets, catching 5 for 72 yards. Miles Sanders (2) and Kenneth Gainwell (1) accounted for the team's only other pass completions.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith led the team in targets (12), receptions (8) and receiving yards (169) in Sunday's win over the Commanders. He grabbed 1 of Jalen Hurts' 3 TD passes, leaving 1 apiece for WR A.J. Brown and TE Dallas Goedert. Brown checked in 2nd in the other 3 categories, tallying a 5-85-1 receiving line on 10 targets. Goedert managed just 3-26-1 on 4 looks in a game he left briefly with a shin issue. Smith looks like he'll reside much closer to Brown in target share than the opener in Detroit suggested.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert suffered a shin injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. Washington and is officially questionable to return. We'll pass along an update when we get one.

Update: Goedert returned in the 3rd quarter.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown still led the team in targets in Week 2, but his 8 looks merely beat WR DeVonta Smith by 1 and TE Dallas Goedert by 2. Brown caught 5 balls for 69 yards in the easy win over Minnesota. Smith caught all 7 of his targets for 80 yards, while Goedert supplied 5 receptions for a team-high 82 yards. QB Jalen Hurts spread his other 10 pass attempts among 5 teammates. WR Quez Watkins caught the night's only TD pass, a 53-yarder that was 1 of his 2 receptions on 2 targets. Brown's share marked a predictable fall from the heights of Week 1, but he still garnered 25.8% target share vs. Minnesota.

If the opener laid out Philly's passing plan, then WR A.J. Brown will not have any target-volume issues. Instead, he'll be a big problem for his teammates. Brown claimed 13 targets among QB Jalen Hurts' 32 pass attempts in Sunday's win over the Lions, a 40.6% share. That's certainly not a rate we'd bet on continuing. But Brown could lose a quarter of that share and still rank among the league leaders in the category. He caught 10 balls for 155 yards, factoring in at all levels of the passing game. No other Eagle drew more than 4 targets, with TE Dallas Goedert, WR DeVonta Smith and RB Kenneth Gainwell tying for 2nd place. Goedert managed 3 catches for 60 yards. Smith didn't catch a pass. Brown will obviously remain a weekly starter for any fantasy team that drafted him. Goedert looks fine to continue using, as we'd expect at least a slight bump from his Week 1 target share of 12.5%. Smith would be better to bench at least until we see this passing picture develop a little further. Smith did, at least, play 6 more snaps than Brown and run 1 more route vs. Detroit.

The Eagles on Monday activated TE Dallas Goedert and many other players from the COVID list. The most fantasy-relevant names beyond Goedert included RBs Jordan Howard and Boston Scott, and LB Alex Singleton.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was not activated from the COVID list and will miss Saturday night's regular-season finale vs. Dallas. He should be back for the Wild Card Round. TE Richard Rodgers was elevated from the practice squad and looks like Philly's Week 18 starter. He's in play in the 2-game DFS slate.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that "roughly a dozen" Eagles players tested positive for COVID on Monday, including TE Dallas Goedert, C Jason Kelce and DT Fletcher Cox. Last week's change to the league protocol gives all the players time to get back ahead of Saturday's game against the Cowboys. But the virus might also help nudge Philly coaches toward sitting these starters. The Eagles have little to gain in playoff positioning by beating Dallas in Week 18. We'll see what the team says on that front this week.

The Washington at Philadelphia game originally scheduled for Sunday has been moved to Tuesday at 7 pm ET due to The Football Team's COVID outbreak, insider Albert Breer reports. This game won't be on the DFS main slate but will still count for Week 15 in season-long leagues. We'll see if any of Washington's players currently on the COVID list are activated by Tuesday. The extra 2 days can't hurt Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is recovering from what's been reported as a high-ankle sprain. Washington WR Terry McLaurin and RB J.D. McKissic will have a better chance to clear concussion protocol before kickoff.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (concussion) put in a full practice on Friday and isn't listed on the final injury report. He's been cleared to play vs. the Saints this weekend. Philadelphia' super run-heavy offense has left Goedert as a low-end TE1.

The Eagles and TE Dallas Goedert agreed to a 4-year, $59 million contract extension with $35 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. It makes Goedert the league's 3rd-highest-paid TE in terms of average annual salary. Finally freed of TE Zach Ertz, Goedert has been hamstrung by a run-heavy Eagles offense lately. We'll see whether the Eagles stick with QB Jalen Hurts in 2022 and beyond or move in a different direction. But the 26-year-old Goedert is a solid hold in dynasty leagues regardless.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. So he's made some progress through the protocol and has a chance to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. We'll get another update on Goedert tomorrow.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. We'll continue to monitor his progress through the protocol, but fantasy owners can't be counting on Goedert in Week 11 lineups.
