Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Kyle Shanahan hasn't sounded particularly concerned about Purdy's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, and the fact that Purdy did anything on Wednesday is encouraging. We'll update his status again tomorrow.
49ers QB Brock Purdy is "day to day" with soreness in his right (throwing) shoulder, HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday. Shanahan said the soreness is from a hit Purdy took in the Week 11 loss to the Seahawks. This doesn't sound like a serious injury, but a throwing shoulder injury on a QB is always worth monitoring closely. QB Brandon Allen is listed with the second team on San Francisco's depth chart; Joshua Dobs with the third team.
49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 20-of-27 passes for 157 yards including a TD and a tipped interception. He excelled on the ground rushing five times for 40 yards including a diving TD at the pylon.
Niners QB Brock Purdy scored a rushing TD for the second straight game in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys. The latest came on a 2-yard QB sneak in the third quarter and gives Purdy a new career high for rushing TDs in a season (3). But he has significantly boosted his ground production beyond that.
49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in the Week 7 loss to the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There may be other damage," Rapoport adds. Aiyuk will miss the rest of the 2024 season. And any "other damage" to his knee could impact his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign. We'll keep you updated on Aiyuk's diagnosis and timeline for return.
49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said after Sunday's loss to the Chiefs that "we're worried" WR Brandon Aiyuk has a torn ACL. "Not confirmed yet," Shanahan added. We should get an update on Aiyuk tomorrow, but a torn ACL would end his 2024 season. His absence would mean target boosts for WR Deebo Samuel and TE George Kittle -- and put WR Jauan Jennings back into weekly starter consideration.
49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 18 of 28 passes (64%) for 255 yards (9.1 YPA), three TDs, and 0 INTs in Thursday night's win over the Seahawks. Purdy's first score came early in the second quarter. He connected down the left sideline with WR Deebo Samuel, who dodged one defender before out-racing another for a 76-yard score. Purdy's other two TDs went to TE George Kittle from 10 and nine yards out. Purdy impressed with his mobility throughout this game, buying extra time to throw and running four times for 19 yards.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (back) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's confirmation that he'll be good to go for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. Purdy's Week 4 outlook will get a boost if TE George Kittle (hamstring) is able to return.
49ers QB Brock Purdy is "day-to-day" with back soreness, HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday. Purdy had an MRI that came back clean, per Shahanan, and the team is hopeful that he'll be able to practice on Wednesday. It doesn't sound like this is something that'll impact Purdy's Week 4 outlook, but we'll keep an eye on him this week.
49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for this weekend’s game vs. the Rams. Kittle showed up on Thursday with a sore hamstring and missed the final two practices of the week. The Niners will be down Kittle, RB Christian McCaffrey, and WR Deebo Samuel on Sunday. They’ll need to lean on RB Jordan Mason and WR Brandon Aiyuk. WR Jauan Jennings should also see a boosted role. TE Eric Saubert looks like the Kittle replacement but would be a desperation fantasy play. The 30-year-old owns 38 career catches.
Niners TE George Kittle missed practice with hamstring tightness Thursday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the TE's status for Sunday's game against the Rams "is in question."
49ers WR Deebo Samuel will miss "a couple of weeks" with a calf injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Vikings, HC Kyle Shanahan said.
Niners QB Brock Purdy threw for 319 yards and a TD in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. But he also tossed an INT and took 6 sacks.
49ers QB Sam Darnold will start Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Rams, HC Kyle Shanahan announced Wednesday. QB Brock Purdy will join RB Christian McCaffrey on the sidelines for that one after San Francisco locked up the NFC's No. 1 seed. WR Deebo Samuel, WR Brandon Aiyuk, and TE George Kittle are unlikely to play much, if at all, against the Rams.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. He was reportedly cleared to return to Monday night's game and will be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders' 32nd-ranked QB defense.
49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a stinger in the fourth quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He's been cleared to return, according to ESPN's Lisa Salters, but Purdy has remained on the sidelines with San Francisco trailing by 14. We'll look for more info on Purdy's status, but it sounds like we should expect him to be available for Week 17's game vs. the Commanders.
Niners QB Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and 4 TDs in Sunday's lopsided win at Philadelphia. He hit Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Deebo Samuel (twice) for scores. It marked the fourth time in the past five games that Purdy threw for at least 296 yards (third game over 300) and the third game among the past four with at least 3 TD passes. Sunday's game marked a rebound from his QB25 fantasy finish in Week 12 against the Seahawks. Purdy gets a rematch with Seattle in Week 14, but we're not downgrading him. Two of the past four QBs to face the Seahawks have thrown 3 TD passes and finished among the top 3 fantasy QBs for the week. After that comes even better matchups with the Cardinals and Commanders in weeks 15 and 17, sandwiching a tough Week 16 spot vs. Baltimore.
49ers QB Brock Purdy went off for 333 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He posted a perfect 158.3 QB rating while spreading scores to Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey. Purdy should make his way onto plenty of championship squads, as long as this offense stays healthy. His rest-of-season schedule only includes one negative matchup – Week 16 vs. Baltimore.
