Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is off the final Week 8 injury report and will play vs. the Chargers on Sunday. QB play is a concern with Derek Carr still out. But Olave should dominate targets with no WR Rashid Shaheed. Olave cracks the top 24 in our Week 8 WR Rankings.
Bucs WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints. He’s expected to be out through Tampa Bay’s Week 11 bye. With WR Chris Godwin (knee) out for the season, the Bucs are down to Jalen McMillan, Trey Palmer, and Sterling Shepard as their top three WRs. McMillan is our favorite among the three, but you’d ideally avoid this situation in Week 8 season-long lineups.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins was added to the injury report with a quad and limited in practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles. We'll look for further updates on his status and get Cincinnati's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Higgins' absence would be a big blow to the Bengals offense. He leads the team with 45 targets over the last five games.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Friday that WR DeAndre Hopkins will “probably” play vs. the Raiders this weekend. Hopkins got in just two practices with his new team this week, so it’s safe to assume he won’t play a full slate of snaps if he does suit up on Sunday. We’d try not to use Hopkins in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens. That’ll again leave the backfield to RBs Nick Chubb, D’Onta Foreman, and Pierre Strong. Chubb played 35% of the snaps and handled 11 of 16 RB carries last week. His role could grow this weekend, but the matchup is brutal against a Baltimore run defense ranked fourth in DVOA.
Dolphins S Jevon Holland (hand) and Edge Emmanuel Ogbah (biceps) will play Sunday against the Cardinals, HC Mike McDaniel told reporters Friday. Each player missed the Week 7 loss to the Colts. Holland returns as a DB3-level option in the Week 8 rankings. Ogbah looks like a DL4-5 with upside. Arizona QB Kyler Murray took 4 sacks apiece in losses to Buffalo and Washington. He has taken just 3 total sacks across the other five games.
Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (rib) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's meeting with the Bears. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous two days. “We will assess how he responds to the work that we did, over the next 48 hours," HC Dan Quinn said after Friday's practice. "But we really pushed it today. Playing quarterback, the movements, the skills, and also specific to the gameplan. Going through the whole thing. We’re really following that process and we’ll let our eyes decide how he responds over the next 48 hours, and that will guide us and we’ll make the best decision for him and the team.” We'll likely get multiple updates on Daniels between now and kickoff. Stay tuned.
Doiphins DL Zach Sieler will miss Sunday's game against the Cardals after getting poked in the eye in practice, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. HC Mike McDaniel said Friday they don't know Sieler's return timeline beyond that yet. There's no DL behind Sieler in Miami worth playing in his place in most IDP formats.
Panthers TE Tommy Tremble (back) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Broncos. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so he figures to play. Tremble played ahead of TE Ja’Tavion Sanders in his last two healthy outings (Weeks 3 and 4). There’s plenty of opportunity available in Carolina’s passing game this weekend with WRs Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen out. But we’d try to avoid the situation in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
Panthers QB Andy Dalton (thumb) missed practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. QB Bryce Young is fully expected to start that one. It's an impossible spot against a strong Denver defense and WRs Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen out.
Panthers WRs Diontae Johnson (rib) and Adam Thielen (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Johnson has been battling multiple injuries throughout the season. It's not the worst thing in the world that he's missing this game against stud CB Patrick Surtain with QB Bryce Young under center. We'll see if Johnson makes it back for Week 9. Thielen just returned to practice this week after coming off IR and isn't ready for game action yet. The Panthers will trot out Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Jonathan Mingo, and David Moore as their top four WRs this weekend. They'll struggle to score points.
Bucs HC Todd Bowles said Friday that RB Bucky Irving (toe) is expected to play vs. the Falcons this weekend, barring a setback. Irving returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two days. The foot injury adds some risk to his Week 8 fantasy profile, but Irving is still in the RB3 mix with Tampa Bay missing WRs Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.
Bills WR Curtis Samuel (pectoral) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. We don’t have a timetable for his return. Samuel totaled just 18 targets over the first seven games of the season, so there’s minimal fantasy impact here.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has cleared concussion protocol and will start this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals, HC Mike McDaniel said Friday. Miami has totaled just 40 points without Tagovailoa over the last four games. They averaged 27.9 points per game with Tua last year and are implied for 25 points against Arizona this week. Dolphins players are back to their early-season spots in our Week 8 Rankings.
49ers GM John Lynch said in a Friday morning radio spot that WR Jauan Jennings (hip) is doubtful to play vs. the Cowboys on Sunday night. Jennings didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday. We're still waiting to see if WR Deebo Samuel will be able to play against Dallas, but WR Ricky Pearsall figures to see the field plenty in that one with Jennings and WR Brandon Aiyuk out.
Rams WR Puka Nacua hauled in 7 of 9 targets for 106 yards in Thursday night's win over the Vikings. All three marks led the team. It was a super impressive performance from a guy who'd been out since Week 1 and had practiced just twice since coming off IR. Nacua's playing time was scaled back a bit: He played 56% of the offensive snaps and ran a route on 67% of pass plays. But his previous knee injury didn't seem to be a factor when he was on the field. Nacua created plenty of separation and ran with his usual oomph after the catch.
Rams WR Cooper Kupp was on the receiving end of 1 of QB Matt Stafford's 4 TDs in Thursday night's win over the Vikings. Stafford evaded two pass rushers while Kupp worked himself open in the back of the end zone for the 7-yard score in the second quarter. He also made a clutch 27-yard grab to convert a third-and-9 late in the fourth to essentially seal the win. Kupp finished the game with 5 catches on 8 targets for 51 yards and the score.
Rams QB Matt Stafford accounted for all 4 of the team's TDs in Thursday night's 30-20 win over the Vikings. He got rolling early with a 5-yard score to RB Kyren Williams on the Rams' first possession of the night. Stafford's most impressive TD came in the second quarter. He spun away from one Vikings defender, ducked under another, and then fired a laser to WR Cooper Kupp in the back of the end zone from 7 yards out. Stafford connected with WR Demarcus Robinson for his third and fourth scores in the second half. He finished 25 of 34 (74%) for 279 yards (8.2 YPA), 4 TDs, and 0 INTs.
Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) got in a limited practice on Thursday. That gives him a chance to return for Monday night's game vs. the Giants. Patterson isn't a fantasy option, but he'd likely steal a few touches from RBs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's seemingly making quick progress in his recovery from pneumonia and has a real chance to play vs. the Cowboys on Sunday night. We'll update Samuel's status again tomorrow. WR Jauan Jennings (hip) remained sidelined on Thursday and isn't looking like a good bet to play against Dallas.
