Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Chiefs. He went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday to a full practice on Friday. That should have Meyers on track to play in this one, but we’ll look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Vegas’ inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday.
Chargers TEs Will Dissly (shoulder) and Hayden Hurst (groin) are listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. Dissly is coming off an 8-81-0 line last week. But between his injury and the potential return of Hurst, Dissly shouldn't be in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints. WRs Ladd McConkey (hip) and D.J. Chark (groin) are questionable. McConkey played through this hip issue last week, so we’re expecting him to play against the Saints. But the hip issue adds risk to a guy who was a low-upside fantasy starter to begin with.
Patriots WR Ja’Lynn Polk (concussion) missed practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets. The rookie is off to a rough start, catching just 10 of 26 targets for 78 yards and one TD through seven games. Kayshon Boutte, Demario Douglas, and Kendrick Bourne figure to operate as New England’s top three WRs this weekend.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (hamstring) did not practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 9’s game vs. the Jaguars. TE Grant Calcaterra gets another start this weekend but is an emergency-only fantasy play.
Cowboys K Brandon Aubrey was on jury duty all week and did not practice. But he’s not listed on the final injury report and will kick against the 49ers on Sunday night. He can stay in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
49ers K Jake Moody (ankle) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Cowboys. Anders Carlson will kick again for San Francisco in that one and is a decent fantasy option with the Niners sporting a 25.5-point implied total.
49ers TE George Kittle (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Cowboys. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re tentatively expecting Kittle to play in this one but will hopefully get further updates on his status on Sunday morning.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness, wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Cowboys. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that he hasn’t pushed Samuel too hard yet but that he’s gotten better each day. He seemingly has a shot to play against Dallas, but we’ll look for further updates on his status. WR Jauan Jennings (hip) has been ruled out for Week 8, which should mean a significant role for WR Ricky Pearsall regardless of Samuel’s status.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. HC Doug Pederson said Friday that Etienne will “probably be a game-time decision.” We’ll look for further updates on his status and get Jacksonville’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Etienne’s absence would make RB Tank Bigsby a more reliable Week 8 fantasy play.
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. It looks like Taylor will be at least close to 100% for this one. The matchup is tough against Houston’s third-ranked RB defense, but Taylor belongs back in most fantasy lineups for Week 8.
Titans RB Tyjae Spears (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Lions. He put in three limited practices this week, which seemingly gives him a good chance to return for this one. Spears isn't a Week 8 fantasy option, but his return would put a dent in RB Tony Pollard's volume projection.
Titans QB Will Levis (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions. QB Mason Rudolph is expected to start that one, but we’ll see if Levis changes that plan. Either way, you should be avoiding the situation in Week 8 fantasy lineups.
Titans WR Calvin Ridley (foot) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was a full participant on Friday. It all suggests that the foot won’t be an issue in this weekend’s game vs. the Lions. Ridley is a risk/reward fantasy play in a struggling Tennessee offense but with WR DeAndre Hopkins out of the picture.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (foot) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then did not practice on Friday. HC Mike McDaniel said Friday that he’s optimistic Hill will be able to play on Sunday. We’ll look for further updates on his status and get Miami’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
The Cowboys have ruled Edge Micah Parsons out for Sunday's game against the 49ers. It'll be his third straight missed game (surrounding a Week 7 bye) since suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Giants. We'll see whether he can make it back for the Week 9 visit to Atlanta. In the meantime, Dallas will have to once again start Carl Lawson and Chauncey Golston on the edges.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (knee, hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but a full participant in Friday’s practice. Rodgers will be fine for Sunday’s plus matchup vs. a Patriots defense he beat for 281 yards and two TDs back in Week 3.
Jets WR Allen Lazard (chest) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. His absence should give Mike Williams a crack at No. 3 WR duties, but he’d still be a desperation fantasy play with WRs Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams likely to dominate targets.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) practiced all week and will play vs. the Chargers on Sunday. Hill has averaged 4.7 carries and 1.0 targets per game this season. He’s back in play as a TD-dependent flier in half-PPR and especially non-PPR leagues.
Saints QB Derek Carr (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Chargers. He should have a chance to make it back for Week 9, but QB Spencer Rattler will start this weekend. He’s not a recommended starter even in 2-QB fantasy leagues.
