New England Patriots Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Police arrested Patriots S Jabrill Peppers on Saturday, charging him with assault and cocaine possession, NFL.com reports. The charges allegedly stem from an altercation that left a victim needing EMS treatment at the scene.

ESPN Patriots writer Mike Reiss says there was a "notable shift in Jerod Mayo's answers" about his team's QB situation in Monday's video conference with reporters. "He seems to strongly be considering switch to Drake Maye," Reiss adds.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson didn’t start in Sunday’s loss to Miami. Still, he led the team in carries (12) and yards (89). He also scored his third TD of the season.

Patriots S Kyle Dugger (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Dolphins. That leaves the New England defense without both starting safeties, as Jabrill Peppers had already been ruled out. Jaylinn Hawkins should start in one spot. We'll see exactly how playing time sorts at the other. The Patriots will, at least, have CB Jonathan Jones, CB Marcus Jones, and Edge Anfernee Jennings. All entered the day questionable. None is likely to be a big IDP factor.

Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne (knee) has been activated from the PUP list and will make his 2024 debut vs. the Dolphins on Sunday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. It'll be Bourne's first action since last October's torn ACL.

The Patriots will be without S Jabrill Peppers for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. After initially listing him as questionable with a shoulder injury, New England downgraded him to out Saturday. Three other key DBs and an edge starter might also be out.

Patriots HC Jerod Mayo said Friday that RB Rhamondre Stevenson will not start this weekend's game vs. the Dolphins. That honor will presumably go to RB Antonio Gibson. Stevenson has fumbled once in all four of New England's games so far this season.

Patriots HC Jerod Mayo said Wednesday that starting RB Antonio Gibson ahead of Rhamondre Stevenson this Sunday is "definitely under consideration." Stevenson has fumbled in each of New England's four games this year, losing fumbles each of the past two weeks. His playing time dipped to 46% and 55% in the past two games after coming in higher than 70% each of the first two weeks.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson managed just 43 yards on 13 attempts in Sunday's blowout loss to San Francisco. Stevenson also fumbled for the fourth straight game.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson mustered just 23 scoreless yards in Thursday night's loss to the Jets. He averaged 3.8 yards per carry on his six attempts and was not targeted. Stevenson appeared to suffer a finger injury midway through the second quarter and missed the rest of that possession. But he returned and played the entire second half. His bigger problem was that New England ran just 48 plays and was playing from behind throughout.

Texans WR Stefon Diggs was utilized early by the Texans and ended with a stat line of four catches on six targets for 37 yards. Though he took a backseat to WR Nico Collins, Diggs was second on the team in targets and catches.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry had a breakout performance with a stat line of eight catches on 12 targets for 109 yards. Henry was the focal point of the Patriots’ receiving game more than doubling the targets of any other Patriots pass catcher. Though he didn’t score a TD, it was a great fantasy performance.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson once again led the Patriots backfield in carries with a final stat line of 21 carries for 81 yards and a TD against the Seahawks. He was also targeted five times in the passing game, though he only had two receptions for nine yards. It was a solid performance again for Stevenson, despite fellow RB Antonio Gibson also earning double-digit carries.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson took advantage of his team's upset victory at Cincinnati with big production on the ground. He rushed 25 times for 120 yards (4.5 per carry) and the team's lone TD. Stevenson also played nearly four times as many snaps as No. 2 RB Antonio Gibson: 51-13, according to Pro Football Focus. Stevenson handled 78% of Patriots RB carries for the game and all three backfield targets. (He caught all three for just 6 yards.)

Patriots S Jabrill Peppers (hip) is active for today's game against the Bengals. He was a late addition to the injury report but appears good to go.

Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday, so it’s likely that Gibson won’t be at 100% for this one. He shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Patriots want to make sure the offensive line and skill-position group is settled before playing rookie QB Drake Maye.

Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (hip) is expected to play vs. the Patriots today, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports. Gibson was limited in Thursday and Friday's practices and is listed as questionable. He shouldn't be in your Week 1 fantasy plans. We'll see how much work he steals from RB Rhamondre Stevenson.

The Patriots on Saturday added S Jabrill Peppers to the injury report. He's now questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals with a hip injury. The issue must have come up since the end of Friday's practice. If Peppers can't go, Jaylinn Hawkins would likely start in his place -- according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. Hopefully Gibson isn’t in your Week 1 fantasy plans. His absence would leave RB Rhamondre Stevenson as something very close to an every-down back on Sunday.
