Michael Pittman Jr. Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Colts are using their franchise tag on WR Michael Pittman. The two sides have been working on a long-term deal and have until July 15 to get something done. If they don't, Pittman will play the 2024 season on a one-year, $21.8 million deal. The 26-year-old has scored as a top-20 PPR WR in each of the last three seasons, including a career-best WR14 finish last year. He's holding steady at 16th in our dynasty WR rankings.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. returned from missing Week 16 with a shoulder injury to regain control of the team's receiving in Sunday's win over the Raiders. Pittman posted an unimpressive 5-46 receiving line on 7 targets. But he drew a target on 30.4% of the team's pass attempts and claimed 33.3% of Colts completions. WR Alec Pierce took his lone catch for a 58-yard TD to lead the team in receiving yards. Rookie WR Josh Downs followed with 53 yards on just 2 receptions. QB Gardner Minshew attempted just 23 passes, completing 15 for 224 yards on a day that found Indy running on more than half of its offensive plays. Pittman looks like the only startable Colts pass-catcher for most fantasy formats in Week 18. Indy faces Houston, which allowed Pittman 8 receptions back in Week 2. Pittman also caught 8+ passes in six straight full outings before the Week 15 game he left early.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full-go in practice on Thursday and Friday and should be ready for his usual high-volume role today.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full-go in practice on Thursday and Friday. HC Shane Steichen said Friday that Pittman has cleared protocol and is on track to play against Vegas. We’ll get the Colts’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. He's on track to play vs. the Raiders this weekend -- but, of course, we said the same thing last week before Pittman had a setback. We'll continue to track his progress leading up to Sunday's kickoff.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He was originally cleared to play last week before experiencing concussion symptoms after the team arrived in Atlanta. Pittman has a shot to return for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders, but we'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days.

Colts WR Michael Pittman has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. Pittman cleared concussion protocol on Friday but was experiencing symptoms again when the team arrived in Atlanta, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder. We'll track Pittman's status this coming week and see if he can make it back for next Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. His absence leaves Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, and D.J. Montgomery as Indianapolis' top three WRs against the Falcons.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. He’s cleared concussion protocol but had a shoulder added to the injury report on Friday and was limited in practice. We’ll look for additonal updates on that situation and get Indianapolis’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Colts WR Michael Pittman cleared concussion protocol and will play vs. the Falcons this weekend, HC Shane Steichen said Friday. Pittman will be ready for his usual high-volume role. He's averaged 11.5 targets, 8.0 catches, 86 yards, and 0.4 TDs over his last eight healthy games with QB Gardner Minshew.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion) progressed to a full practice on Thursday. He's now on track to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. Pittman can be penciled into Week 16 fantasy lineups, but check back tomorrow for another update on his status.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion) was listed as limited on Wednesday's injury report. So he's made some progress through the protocol and has a chance to be cleared for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

Colts WR Michael Pittman took a vicious hit to the head in the second quarter of Saturday's game vs. the Steelers. He eventually made it off the field under his own power but went to the locker room for a concussion check. We'll update Pittman's status when we know more.

Update: Pittman has been ruled out with a concussion. This is his second documented concussion. We'll track his progress through the protocol this coming week.

Colts WR Michael Pittman racked up 10 catches for 107 yards in the Week 12 win over the Bucs. His 13 targets tied for the team lead and were 31.7% of QB Gardner Minshew's 41 total attempts. Pittman has now averaged 10.8 targets, 7.5 catches, 81.2 yards, and 0.33 TDs in his last six games with Minshew. He has a chance to continue delivering WR1 level production the next three games with plus matchups against the Titans, Bengals, and Steelers.

Colts WR Michael Pittman caught a mid-range pass from Gardner Minshew in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Browns, broke two tackles and took it for a 75-yard go-ahead TD. And thank goodness he did, because Pittman only had one other catch among 5 total targets. That did still account for 21.7% of Minshew's total pass attempts in a game that saw him throw just 23 times. Throw in a matchup with what had been the league's toughest defense coming into the game, and there's nothing to worry about with Pittman's role. Next week holds another non-easy matchup with the Saints.

Colts WR Michael Pittman racked up 9 receptions for 109 yards on 14 targets in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. He clearly benefited from Gardner Minshew attempting 55 throws in the lopsided loss. But Pittman drew a nice 25.5% target share. He garnered six more looks than his nearest teammate (Josh Downs). It's the fourth time in six games that Pittman has drawn at least 11 targets. That makes him a weekly starter across fantasy formats. Week 7 holds a difficult matchup with the league-best Browns defense, though.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson has been placed on IR with his Grade 3 AC joint sprain. That knocks him out for at least the next four games vs. the Jaguars, Browns, Saints, and Panthers. The rookie is droppable in shallower fantasy leagues without an IR spot. QB Gardner Minshew will step in as Indianapolis' starter for however long Richardson is out. Minshew is a capable veteran who's already registered a 68.7% completion rate with two TDs vs. 0 INTs this season. He might even be a slight upgrade for WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs.
