Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He's four weeks removed from suffering a high-ankle sprain and seems unlikely to be ready for Sunday's opener vs. the Texans. We'll continue to track Downs' status and see if he can make it back for Week 2.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Downs' absence will leave Michael Pittman, Adonai Mitchell, and Alec Pierce as Indianapolis' clear top three WRs. Mitchell played in the slot on 71% of his preseason snaps, so the Colts were clearly prepping for him to replace Downs early this season.
The rookie is worth watching closely this weekend, but we'd try not to use him in fantasy lineups. QB Anthony Richardson needs to prove that he can support more than one fantasy-relevant WR.
