Week 7 FanDuel Picks

By Kevin English | Updated on Fri, 18 Oct 2024 . 9:43 PM EDT
Back healthy, Malik Nabers made the list of Week 7 FanDuel Picks

Cash Game Quarterback

Geno Smith, Seahawks ($7,600) at Falcons

Smith pops up No. 1 in our FanDuel $ per point rankings. His value is propped up by league-leading pass volume and a matchup with a weak Atlanta defense.

Through six weeks, the Falcons rank dead last in pressure rate. They've allowed multiple TD passes in three of their past four matchups.

Tournament Quarterbacks

Anthony Richardson, Colts ($7,400) vs. Dolphins

Richardon’s high-ceiling, low-floor outlook fits perfectly for tournaments.

He’s off the injury report, and I’d expect his rushing load to remain fantasy friendly. Current projections have him for nearly 7 attempts.

On the Dolphins’ side: S Jevon Holland (doubtful) is likely to sit out with a hand injury.

Miami's fantasy point totals are down, partly due to a favorable schedule. Yet they sit 16th in pass defense DVOA and 29th in PFF’s coverage grades.

Also in my player pool: Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins

Cash Game Running Back

Breece Hall, Jets ($7,600) at Steelers

The Steelers supply a tough matchup, but I’m focused on Hall’s role under new OC Todd Downing.

We’ll see if it becomes a trend. But in Downing’s first game in charge, Hall tallied his highest snap rate (86%) and carry share (86%) since Week 1.

Chuba Hubbard, Panthers ($7,400) at Commanders

It’s hard to turn down the volume here.

Since Week 3, Hubbard’s averaged 22 touches per game. Rookie RB Jonathan Brooks will miss another week, securing Hubbard’s workload against Washington. They’ll be without top DL Jonathan Allen.

Also in my player pool: Kenneth Walker, Kyren Williams

Tournament Running Back

Saquon Barkley, Eagles ($9,000) at Giants

Barkley faces his old team set for a sizable workload. He’s hit 20 touches in all but one game.

Top Giants defenders Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence hit the weekend as questionable after missing two practices this week.

De’Von Achane, Dolphins ($6,900) at Colts

Achane cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol during a Week 6 bye.

Back healthy, he projects for 12+ touches against a struggling Colts defense. They entered the week allowing the fourth-most rushing yards to RBs and remain without stud DL DeForest Buckner.

Also in my player pool: Bijan Robinson, Chase Brown, Isaac Guerendo (if Jordan Mason sits)

Cash Game Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson, Vikings ($9,400) vs. Lions

Jefferson's hit 140 yards in each of his past three meetings with Detroit. This go around won't include star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson, which might help produce more downfield opportunities.

Prior to a bye week, Jefferson reached 80 yards in four straight.

Drake London, Falcons ($7,500) vs. Seahawks

London catches the Seahawks with a banged up secondary, as CBs Tre Brown and Riq Wollen were ruled out on Friday.

Regardless, London’s a cash option for his reliable role. Over the past three weeks, he ranks second league-wide in targets (and second in WR fantasy points).

Also in my player pool: Terry McLaurin, Diontae Johnson (health pending), Noah Brown

Tournament Wide Receivers

Malik Nabers, Giants ($8,300) vs. Eagles

Nabers slots in as the WR5 in ceiling projection. He’s sixth in FanDuel’s WR pricing and second in FD $ per point.

Now off the injury report, Nabers faces a Philly unit that’s 19th or worse in pressure rate, pass defense DVOA, and PFF coverage grade.

Davante Adams, Jets ($6,900) at Steelers

I’m not too worried about the Jets easing Adams back into action. They need to win games, and he best helps achieve that goal.

He’s also off the injury report.

It’s an Aaron Rodgers-led offense, so I don’t see an issue learning the playbook, either. Given their rapport, I’d expect Adams to immediately factor in near the goal line, making him an intriguing tournament play at cost.

Also in my player pool: Tyreek Hill, Cooper Kupp, Jayden Reed, George Pickens, Brandon Aiyuk, Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Cash Game Tight End

David Njoku, Browns ($5,300) vs. Bengals

Here’s a fine spot to save some cash.

Njoku pops as our top value option, particularly with his rising role. After seeing 4% of the targets in his return from an ankle sprain, Njoku saw a 32% share last Sunday.

With Amari Cooper in Buffalo, Njoku’s volume should be here to stay. Cleveland’s also installed as 5.5-point home underdogs.

Also in my player pool: Brock Bowers

Tournament Tight End

Brock Bowers, Raiders ($7,000) at Rams

Davante Adams is out of town.

Jakobi Meyers is doubtful to play.

It adds up to another busy day for the rookie, who’s already garnered 22 targets over the past two weeks.

Also in my player pool: Travis Kelce, Kyle Pitts

Defense

*At defense, I’m generally looking to spend down across formats.

New York Giants ($3,200) at Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants lead the NFL in sack rate (11.6%). Now, they get a shaky Eagles offense that just lost stud LT Jordan Mailata to a hamstring injury.

Hurts already has games of 4 and 6 sacks taken this season.

Also in my player pool: Bengals, Rams
