Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Raiders K Daniel Carlson (groin) has yet to practice this week. We’ll see how he’s listed on Saturday’s final injury report for the Monday nighter vs. the Lions, but you should start looking elsewhere for your Week 8 fantasy kicker.
Chargers TE Gerald Everett (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Bears. He got in a full practice on Friday, which seemingly puts him on track to play. But a less-than-100% Everett is a shaky fantasy start.
Chargers WR Josh Palmer (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, so his availability for this one is seemingly in serious jeopardy. We’ll look for further updates on Palmer’s status, but we won’t get the Chargers’ inactives until a little before 7 pm ET on Sunday.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. He went from no practice on Wednesday to a limited practice on Thursday to full participation on Friday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Purdy has just one more stage of the concussion protocol to pass through. He now looks likely to play on Sunday. We'll continue to keep you updated on his status.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. We’ll see if he’s ready to return after San Francisco’s Week 9 bye. Jauan Jennings should operate as the 49ers’ No. 2 WR again this weekend but would be a desperation fantasy play.
Broncos WR Brandon Johnson (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then didn't practice on Friday, so he looks legitimately iffy for this one. Johnson isn't a fantasy factor, but his absence might force Denver to put WR Marvin Mims in something close to a full-time role.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (ribs, hip) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final Week 8 injury report. It looks like he’s ready to step back into his usual role vs. the Browns on Sunday.
The Seahawks list WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Browns. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was a full participant on Friday. HC Pete Carroll confirmed on Friday that Lockett will play vs. Cleveland. The hamstring issue adds a bit of risk, but we’re expecting Lockett in a full-time role on Sunday.
Seahawks RB Ken Walker (calf) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He was a full-go in Friday’s practice after sitting out the previous two days. It looks like Seattle was just giving Walker some mid-week rest after his 28-touch outing vs. the Cardinals. Walker will be ready to go for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns. RB Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) will also return for that one after putting in a full week of practice. The rookie figures to mix in for a handful of touches behind Walker.
Browns TE David Njoku (knee) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday but will play vs. the Seahawks this weekend.
Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles. There’s been no indication that he’s in danger of missing this one, but you’ll need to check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure Samuel is active.
Panthers LB Frankie Luvu (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after putting in limited practices all week. He says he'll be playing, though, according to The Athletic's Joe Person. Expect to have Luvu in your IDP lineups.
The Panthers have ruled S Vonn Bell (quad) out for the second straight game. He missed the full week of practice coming out of the Week 7 bye. S Xavier Woods, on the other hand, appears to be trending toward a Sunday return. He's questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after finishing the week with a full Friday practice. Woods has been out since Week 3. We'll check his status Sunday.
Panthers Edge Brian Burns is questionable after injuring an elbow during the practice week. After seeing his time limited Thursday, Burns missed Friday's practice altogether. We'll see about his status over the weekend, but make sure you have another option available.
Cardinals S Jalen Thompson is questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. He managed only limited practices throughout the week after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury. We'll check his status Sunday. If active, though, Thompson will be worth strong starter consideration.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (back) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play vs. the Patriots this weekend but carries a bit more risk than usual after laboring through back trouble last week.
Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Patriots. He got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday but said Friday that he’ll play against New England. We’ll get Miami’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He put in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday but will be a “full go” vs. the Patriots this weekend, according to NFL Networks’s Cameron Wolfe. Hill should stay glued into fantasy lineups.
Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens. He was a full participant in practice all week and was actually not even listed on the Thursday or Friday practice report. But Murray is still at least one more week away from his 2023 debut. QB Josh Dobbs will start vs. Baltimore.
Saints TE Juwan Johnson (calf) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts after missing the previous four weeks. We’ll see how routes and targets are divvied between Johnson and Taysom Hill, but neither is a reliable Week 8 fantasy play.
