Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Texans WR Noah Brown (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Broncos. It’ll be his first action since Week 10 – and the first time Houston has Brown, Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Robert Woods available at the same time since Week 1. We’re betting on Brown out-snapping and out-producing Woods as the No. 3 WR. But we’d rather wait on getting Brown back in fantasy lineups.
Texans WR Tank Dell (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Broncos. He got in two limited practices to close the week and never seemed in danger of missing this one. Dell is fine to keep in fantasy lineups.
Titans WR Treylon Burks (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. We’ll see how big a role he plays in his first action since Week 9, but Burks should not be in fantasy lineups.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen (quad) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. He only got in a limited practice on Friday but didn’t sound worried about the quad injury. We’re expecting him to play his usual high-volume role today.
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor is expected to miss 3-5 weeks after undergoing thumb surgery on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Dr. Steven Shin used an internal brace to help repair the torn UCL, which will speed up Taylor's recovery. The Colts notably did not place JT on IR, which confirms that there's a chance he misses fewer than four games. It seems likely that he'll miss the next three vs. the Titans, Bengals, and Steelers. We'll see if Taylor can make it back for Week 16 against the Falcons. He's worth keeping stashed on fantasy benches in most cases.
A source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is "unlikely" to play again this season. Rodgers got back on the practice field this week -- less than three months after tearing his Achilles. But the thought all along was that he'd only play again if the Jets were still in the playoff hunt. At 4-7, they'd likely need to win out to earn a postseason berth. So we'll be forced to watch more Tim Boyle or Zach Wilson or Trevor Siemian the rest of the way. Rodgers is at least on track to return to save WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall in 2024.
Patriots RB Ezekiel Elliott (thigh) is expected to play vs. the Chargers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Elliott registered a season-low 22% snap rate coming off the bye last week. He'd be a desperation Week 13 fantasy play.
Jets RBs Breece Hall (hamstring) and Dalvin Cook (shoulder) are expected to play vs. the Falcons today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hall practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we're not too worried about the hamstring.
Cardinals TE Trey McBride (groin) is expected to play vs. the Steelers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. McBride got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. The groin adds a bit of risk to his Week 13 fantasy profile, but he remains a strong start.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (heel) is expected to play vs. the Steelers today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Brown is listed as questionable and didn't practice all week. But he did play through this heel injury last week, posting a 6-88-0 line on 12 targets. See where Brown sits in the Week 13 WR Rankings.
ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Bucs WR Chris Godwin (neck) "likely" to play vs. the Panthers today. "But the team needs to make sure he feels OK in pre-game warmups first," Schefter adds. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport had a similar report, saying Godwin "plans to play Sunday vs. Carolina as long as he wakes up feeling good." That's a 4:05 pm ET kickoff, so we won't get the Bucs' inactives until a little after 2:30. If you're hoping to use Godwin today, it'd be wise to have another late-game option rostered just in case Godwin ends up sitting.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen (quad) is expected to play vs. the Patriots today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Allen only got in a limited practice on Friday, but there never seemed to be any concern about his availability for this one. He should stay glued into fantasy lineups.
Texans WR Noah Brown (knee) is expected to play vs. the Broncos today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Brown got in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday, so we're a bit surprised he's playing. This will be the first time since Week 1 that Brown, Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Robert Woods are all available. Brown actually led the Texans with a 75% route rate in that one, although it's safe to say that won't be the case today. We'd try not to use Brown in Week 13 fantasy lineups with the playing-time uncertainty in his first game off a multi-week knee injury.
Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is expected to play vs. the Lions today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Olave made quick progress through the protocol and should be ready for his usual role today. Detroit's defense has struggled lately, allowing a WR to top 20 PPR points in each of the last three weeks. See where Olave lands in the Week 13 WR Rankings.
Insider Jordan Schultz confirms that WR Tank Dell (calf) is expected to play vs. the Broncos on Sunday. The rookie is listed as questionable, but HC Demeco Ryans said early in the week that Dell would likely be available for this one. We're expecting him to play his usual role, meaning that Dell should be in fantasy lineups.
Jaguars CB Tyson Campbell (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Bengals. He remained limited in practice all week. We wouldn't wait on Campbell for IDP lineups. The injury has cost him four of the past five games, and Campbell aggravated the injury in the one he did play.
The Bengals have ruled CB Cam Taylor-Britt out for Monday night's game against the Jaguars. He might have been on track to return from the quad injury that cost him Week 12, but he sprained an ankle in practice this week. We'll see about Taylor-Britt's status heading into Week 14.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (ribs) is officially listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Bengals after a limited week of practice. HC Doug Pederson said Saturday that he expects Etienne to play. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Etienne owners to stash RB D'Ernest Johnson as an insurance policy just in case Etienne winds up inactive.
The Texans re-signed K Matt Ammendola, who will kick in Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He's missed all three of his FG tries over the past two weeks, although two of them have come from 50+ yards. Insider Aaron Wilson reports that K Ka'imi Fairbairn (quad) is expected back for Week 14.
Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon (groin) has been downgraded to out for Sunday night's game vs. the Packers. HC Andy Reid said Friday that he expected McKinnon to play, so it's unclear what changed over the last 24 hours. Regardless, McKinnon's absence should again put RB Isiah Pacheco in a three-down role. He's a strong RB1 play in fantasy lineups.
