Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (elbow) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He hyperextended his elbow last week but returned to that game and will be ready for a full workload vs. the Jets on Sunday.
Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Jets. He remained limited in practice all week but hasn't been cleared for contact. QB Tyrod Taylor gets the start again this weekend. He's played reasonably well the past two weeks, completing 65% of his passes at 7.4 yards per attempt with two TDs and 0 INTs. Taylor isn't a recommended fantasy play against a tough Jets defense, but he's not a significant downgrade for guys like RB Saquon Barkley and TE Darren Waller.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (elbow) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was able to play through the hyperextended elbow last week and should be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Jets.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley sustained a hyperextended left elbow in Sunday’s win over Washington. Trainers put a sleeve on Barkley’s elbow, and he was able to play through the injury. "I'll be all right," Barkley said after the loss. We’ll keep an eye on his practice participation, but Barkley should be fine for Week 8.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley tallied 118 total yards in Sunday's victory over Washington. Barkley averaged just 3.7 yards per carry, but it was encouaging to see him hold up on 24 touches. He also displayed plenty of burst on his 32-yard catch-and-run receiving score. Over the past two weeks, Barkley’s earned a whopping 52 touches. That type of workload will keep him squarely in the RB1 mix for Sunday’s tilt vs. the Jets.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley finished with 24 carries for 93 rushing yards in Week 6 vs. the Bills. He also added 4 catches on 5 targets for as many yards in the receiving game on Sunday night. It wasn’t a particularly efficient outing, as the Giants continue to have offensive struggles, but fantasy managers should feel happy with 13.8 PPR points in Barkley’s first game back since suffering an ankle injury in Week 2. Next week, Barkley will go up against a Commanders run defense that was fairly good at neutralizing the efforts of rookie RB Bijan Robinson in Week 6, but a player of Barkley’s caliber should still be thought of as a solid lineup choice.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Bills. He’s four weeks removed from his high-ankle sprain and probably isn’t at 100% just yet. Throw in an injury-wrecked Giants offensive line, and Barkley does not carry his usual RB1 projection this week.
The Giants are “optimistic” and “hopeful” that RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) will play vs. the Bills tonight, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets. The Giants "want to make sure there are no setbacks," Schefter adds. "But they 'feel good about it', so signs point up." NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has a similar report, saying "it's not 100%" but that there's a "real chance" Barkley returns tonight. It'd be nice to get a sure-fire report, but it continues to sound more likely than not that Barkley plays tonight. He can stay penciled into fantasy lineups, ideally with a late-game alternative also rostered. Matt Breida, Latavius Murray, Damien Harris, and Joshua Kelley qualify.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler hears that the Giants are “optimistic, as of Saturday morning" that RB Saquon Barkley will play vs. the Bills on Sunday night. "No firm determination yet, but chances are better this week than last, and he's had a good week of practice, no setbacks," Fowler adds. We'll look for further updates on Barkley. We won't get the Giants' inactives until a little before 7 pm ET on Sunday.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Bills. He remained limited in practice all week but said Thursday that he feels better this week than last. We'll look for further updates on Barkley. We won't get New York's inactives until around 7 pm ET on Sunday.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice. "I feel like I'm trending every week," Barkley said. "Feel better this Wednesday and Thursday than last Wednesday and Thursday. ... Take it day-by-day." We'll see what Barkley does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Bills.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited all last week before missing the Dolphins game, so Barkley's availability for Sunday night's game vs. the Bills remains uncertain. We'll update Barkley's status again tomorrow.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. RB Matt Breida should lead the backfield again but is just a RB3 or flex play in a struggling New York offense.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Barkley remained limited in practice all week and didn't sound optimistic about his status when speaking to the media. Rapoport adds that Barkley is "closer" to a return. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 6. His absence today again leaves New York's backfield to Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell. Breida has tallied 18 carries and eight targets to Brightwell's eight carries and five targets over the last two weeks. See where both guys land in the updated Week 5 RB Rankings.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. He was limited in practice all week. HC Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley could be a game-time decision. He won't be at 100% if he plays. New York will also be without offensive linemen Andrew Thomas, Shane Lemieux, and John Michael Schmitz this weekend.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He told reporters afterward that his ankle "is in a better spot than it was last Thursday" but stopped short of saying that he'll play vs. the Dolphins this weekend. "Each day it gets better," Barkley said. "It's a tough injury. Just taking it one day at a time. Trying to improve each day. ... Definitely encouraged but don't want to make guarantees. Just continue trusting my body and trusting the training staff." We'll see what Barkley does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report. But fantasy owners should make sure they have a backup plan in place for Week 5. Barkley seems no better than 50/50 to play against Miami.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited in all three practices last week before missing the Seahawks game, so this doesn't tell us much about his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. Barkley seemingly has a shot to play in that one, but we'll keep you updated on his progress over the next few days.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Seahawks. He put in three limited practices this week and has a shot to return for Week 5. Matt Breida figures to serve as New York's lead back tonight after playing 82% of the offensive snaps last week. RBs Gary Brightwell and Eric Gray are also active.
