Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell is receiving some first-team reps in camp. It has not been exclusively RB Saquon Barkley with the first team, per Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green.
Gowton: "Kenny Gainwell has been getting a decent amount of first team RB reps. Not just exclusively Saquon."
The Eagles signed Barkley to a three-year, $37 million contract this offseason, but they may continue sprinkling in other RBs during the season.
The run game for the Eagles has leaned on multiple RBs, even after bringing in a talented lead runner like D'Andre Swift last season.
Last year, Swift only hit a 70% snap share in two games.
Barkley's contract likely means he will be the main focus of the running game, but early indications of Gainwell getting some reps is a slight concern.
This shouldn't affect Barkley's fantasy value, but don't be surprised if Gainwell still sees his typical 30-40% snap share like he has the past few seasons for the Eagles.
Monitoring training camp for the next few weeks to see if Gainwell continues earning first team reps will be crucial in deciding whether or not to draft Barkley at his current cost.
