Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants QB Drew Lock will start Sunday's game vs. the Falcons, HC Brian Daboll said. QB Tommy DeVito is in concussion protocol, while Tim Boyle ... is Tim Boyle. Lock hasn't been any good this year, completing 51% of his passes at 4.6 yards per attempt with 0 TDs and 2 INTs. He at least targeted WR Malik Nabers 23 times on a 28.4% share in his two full games. Nabers caught 13 of those passes for 148 yards. He remains a fine WR2 play this week. Lock should be nowhere near fantasy lineups.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito sustained a concussion in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens and won't return. He's been replaced by QB Tim Boyle. The Giants can't get to the offseason quickly enough.
Giants QB Drew Lock (heel, elbow) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens. QB Tommy DeVito will make his second start of the season in that one. He sits 30th in the Week 15 QB Rankings.
QB Tommy DeVito will start for the Giants this week according to HC Brian Daboll. QB Drew Lock is currently in a walking boot due to a heel injury
The Giants are planning to start QB Drew Lock against the Saints this weekend, HC Brian Daboll said Wednesday. Lock was not good vs. the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, averaging 5.6 yards per pass attempt with 0 TDs and a pick-six. He ran for 57 yards and a score, though. And the decision is defensible when QB Tommy DeVito is the other option. That, of course, doesn't make Lock a good fantasy play. He sits 24th in the Week 14 QB Rankings.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito (foreman) is inactive as the emergency third QB for today’s game vs. the Cowboys. QB Drew Lock gets the start in his place. Lock shouldn’t be anywhere near season-long fantasy lineups, although we are projecting him as a slight upgrade for WR Malik Nabers and the Giants passing game.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito appears to be a longshot to play on Thanksgiving due to his forearm injury. He is formally listed as questionable, but Drew Lock is in line to start, according to reports. DeVito's injury will be evaluated further.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito (right forearm) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Cowboys. He went from a limited practice on Tuesday to no practice on Wednesday. And, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, DeVito is not flying with the team to Dallas but will join them later. It seems like there's a good chance QB Drew Lock gets the start for the G-Men on Thanksgiving. It's a situation to avoid outside of large-field Thanksgiving DFS tournaments.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito was limited in Tuesday's practice with a right forearm issue. He wasn't listed on the injury report on Monday. “I’m hopeful, but it’s not 100%" that DeVito will play vs. the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, HC Brian Daboll said. We'll see how DeVito is listed on the final injury report tomorrow. QB Drew Lock would get the nod against Dallas if DeVito is out.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito completed 21 of 31 passes for 189 yards and no TDs. He also ran seven times for 32 yards. The Buccaneers defense was able to get pressure and DeVito was not accurate enough to overcome. WR Malik Nabers led the team with nine targets, but only caught six for 64 yards.
Former Giants QB Daniel Jones has been granted his release from the team after being demoted to QB3 on the team over their bye week. His large contract makes it likely that Jones will last through waivers but if he hits open free agency, there should be plenty of interest with the current NFL QB landscape.
The Giants are benching QB Daniel Jones, NFL Network reports. It's being "deemed a football decision," according to Mike Garafolo, which is fair considering Jones' play this season. But the move also protects the Giants from the 2025 $23 million injury guarantee in Jones' contract. We've very likely seen the last of Jones on the field for the Giants. The team will start QB Tommy DeVito -- not QB Drew Lock -- against the Buccaneers this weekend, per NFL Network.
Giants QB Tyrod Taylor is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Eagles with a thumb injury. He's been replaced by Tommy DeVito. We'll update Taylor's status when we know more.
Update: Taylor returned early in the second quarter.
Giants QB Tyrod Taylor will start this weekend's game vs. the Rams, HC Brian Daboll said. Taylor played reasonably well in relief of QB Tommy DeVito in Philadelphia on Monday, throwing for 133 yards, one TD, and one INT in the second half. He completed 64% of his passes at 7.4 yards per attempt with two TDs and 0 INTs in starts against the Bills and Commanders earlier this season. Taylor is just a low-end QB2 for Week 17, but he should bring more stability to the offense than DeVito.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito was benched at halftime of Monday's game vs. the Eagles. He produced just three points and 55 passing yards in the game's first 30 minutes. After a few surprisingly competent starts, DeVito has bottomed out the past two weeks. QB Tyrod Taylor will play the second half vs. Philadelphia and figures to start the final two games of the season. He should bring a bit more stability to the Giants' offense.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito exited for a concussion check in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Saints. He took a big shot to the back at the end of a scramble and slammed his head against the turf. We'll update DeVito's status when we know more. He's been replaced by QB Tyrod Taylor.
Update: DeVito returned for the start of the second half.
Giants HC Brian Daboll said Tuesday that QB Tommy DeVito will start Monday night's game vs. the Packers. QB Tyrod Taylor (ribs) was designated to return from IR and will practice this week. It's unclear if the Giants are just sticking with DeVito or if Taylor isn't cleared for game action yet. DeVito has played better than expected the past three games, completing 63% of his passes at 6.7 yards per attempt with six TDs vs. one INT. He's finished QB18, QB7, and QB20 in fantasy points those three weeks and is in the mix in 2-QB and Superflex leagues. DeVito has also taken a sack on a whopping 20.4% of his dropbacks over the past three games, so the Packers DST makes for a nice Week 14 spot start.
The Giants have designated QB Tyrod Taylor to return from IR, opening his three-week practice window. Taylor missed the last four games with a rib injury, so we'd doubt he needs much buildup time before he's ready to play again. The bigger question might be whether the Giants want to bother going back to the 34-year-old backup or just ride with Tommy DeVito the rest of the way. Neither is likely to be much of a fantasy factor over the season's final few weeks. But DeVito has managed finishes of QB20, QB18, QB7, and QB20 over his four games as the primary QB. We'll watch for word on the Giants' QB plans this week, ahead of a Monday night home date with the Packers.
