Jalen Hurts Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni said Wednesday that he expects QB Jalen Hurts (knee) to play vs. the Commanders this weekend. "We’re confident that he’ll be ready to go," Sirianni said. "We anticipate him to go. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. We’ll see. … I think he’s feeling better. We’re hopeful that he’ll (have) no limitations on Sunday.” Hurts threw it just fine in the Week 7 win over Miami but looked limited as a runner. It could be a similar story this weekend. We'll keep you updated on his health.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts played the second half of Sunday night's win over the Dolphins with a brace on his left leg. ESPN's Tim McManus reports that it's a knee issue. "I'll be fine," Hurts said afterward. Asked whether it will impact him going forward, he said, "I hope not." We'll watch for more on the knee, but we'll also continue playing Hurts when active. He threw for 136 yards and a TD in that second half.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 23 of 31 passes for 279 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT in Week 7’s win vs. the Dolphins. He also added 21 rushing yards with a ground score on 11 carries in the contest. Hurts has now recorded at least 19 fantasy points in 4-point per passing TD leagues in six of seven games in 2023. Expect Hurts to return high-end QB1 numbers again in Week 8 vs. the Commanders.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for 280 yards and led the team in rushing Sunday against the Jets. But he also arguably was most to blame for Philly's first loss. Hurts tossed 3 INTs in the game, his second multi-INT game of the season. Hurts did also throw for a TD and run for a score, totaling 47 yards on the ground. That all combined to save a decent fantasy day, third-best among QBs with two games to go. It's enough to make us shrug off the poor real-life play for Hurts, especially given that it came against a good defense. He'll find more favorable spots against the Dolphins and Commanders the next two weeks.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for 303 yards, 1 TD, and an INT in Sunday's win over the Rams. He added 72 yards and a goal-line TD for a strong fantasy outing. It marked Hurts' second straight game with 300+ passing yards and his third game among the past four with at least one rushing score. Hurts visits the Jets in Week 6 before meetings with the Dolphins, Commanders (rematch), and Cowboys.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts racked up 319 yards and 2 TDs passing in Sunday's OT win over the Commanders. He found WR A.J. Brown for both scores, from 28 and 59 yards out. Brown and DeVonta Smith combined to draw targets on 59.5% of Hurts' pass attempts. They also accounted for 79.3% of the team's receiving yards. TE Dallas Goedert managed just 2 receptions for 25 yards among 4 targets. RB D'Andre Swift ranked third on the team with 4 receptions on 4 targets.

Outside of two deep balls to WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts struggled to get much going through the air in Thursday night’s win over the Vikings. He finished with 193 yards, one TD, and one INT on 18-of-23 passing. But Hurts added 35 yards and two TDs on the ground to turn in a big fantasy day. Both of those scores came on the evidently unstoppable tush-push play from the Minnesota one-yard line. Philly’s passing game has yet to click through two weeks. But there’s too much talent for it not to get going soon. In the meantime, Hurts’ rushing production will buoy his fantasy value. There’s nothing scary on Hurts’ schedule until a Week 6 matchup vs. the Jets.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for just 170 yards and ran for 37 in Sunday's win over the Patriots. His lone TD came on a 5-yard, first-quarter pass to WR DeVonta Smith. Hurts lost a fumble on a run and took 3 sacks. It was a meek fantasy performance for a top QB, but there's nothing to worry about here. We'd bet on New England's defense ranking among the best in the league this year. Hurts gets a much more favorable matchup at home against the Vikings in Week 2.

In case you were wondering about how Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has fared in training camp so far, here's an update from The Athletic's Bo Wulf: "Hurts seems to have picked up where he left off, which just so happened to be playing the best game of his life on the biggest stage. ... There’s no doubt he’s been more consistent than ever over the first week-plus of camp." Hurts finished eighth among QBs in fantasy points in his first full season as starter in 2021 and then climbed to third last year. He's a safe bet for top-five production in 2023, with the upside to lead all QBs in fantasy points.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert enters year six looking to play a full season for the first time since 2018. Goedert missed five games with a small fracture in his shoulder last year. Still, he remained a big part of Philly’s passing game. Including the playoffs, he posted a 19.9% target share that only five TEs beat. He finished TE5 in fantasy points per game. While he remains the No. 3 target in a low-volume pass offense, Goedert’s proven highly efficient throughout his career. In fact, he paces all pass catchers in yards per target (10.6) over the past two seasons. The Eagles lost OC Shane Steichen to the Colts, but this unit shouldn’t change much following the promotion of QB coach Brian Johnson. Goedert, 28, profiles as a mid-level fantasy starter in our TE rankings.

The Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts have agreed to a five-year contract extension, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The deal reportedly includes $255 million in total money, with $179.304 million in guarantees -- plus an extra $15 million in incentives. The pact also comes with a no-trade clause, the first the team has ever given out, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This obviously locks Hurts in as Philly's starter for the foreseeable future, which is good news for his spot in the dynasty rankings. This could also be a key move in the Lamar Jackson saga. Hurts' deal -- along with other recent second QB contracts -- seems to set the market.

The Eagles promoted Brian Johnson to OC. The 36-year-old has spent the past 2 seasons as Philly's QB coach, helping QB Jalen Hurts develop into 1 of the game's best. While this will be Johnson's first NFL OC gig, he does have 4 years of OC experience at the college level (2012-2013 at Utah, 2017 at Houston and 2020 at Florida). With Johnson's promotion and HC Nick Sirianni back, there should be plenty of continuity for the Eagles' offense in 2023, despite the loss of OC Shane Steichen.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 15 of 25 attempts for 121 passing yards in addition to rushing for 39 yards and scoring a TD on the ground in Sunday's NFC Championship win vs. the 49ers. Next for Hurts is a showdown against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs' defense ranks as the 2nd-best matchup in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for 154 yards and 2 TDs in Saturday's Divisional Round win vs. the Giants. Hurts also added 34 rushing yards and 1 TD on the ground. The dual threat looked much better and healthier than he had in Week 18 vs. this same Giants' defense. The playoff bye week seems to have been what Hurts needed to give his ailing right shoulder some rest. Whichever team the Eagles end up playing next will certainly have their hands full if Hurts and company can replicate the dominant success from this Divisional round game.
